The Pickup Poem

Your eyes are blue like the ocean,

You're like a medical cure

Want to ride on my DeLorean?

Oh wait, I already visited the future

We were going to the movies,

It was going to cost us 5000 rupees,

Doesn't matter,

Going home was better.

We sat and we talked

as I tell you my memories,

back when you were getting stalked;

I couldn't talk,

as I would always freeze

How about that date?

Are you still looking for a mate?

I don't have the time to argue,

nor debate.

I saw our fate!

Let's go out on a date,

for I have another girl on the waiting list,

her name is 'Faith'.

You heard right,

I'll leave you...

I'm serious,

I might.

I'm just curious

about this night.

Do we get to kiss?

Or do we just fight?

I took part in a challenge where every participant had five minutes to write a poem that rhymes. That was the only rule. Absurdity was allowed and I just had to make it rhyme. I wrote the draft in five minutes. I polished the poem and this is it.
