So, state your opinion, but leave mine out in the wind.

I don't talk back because of respect, I let you win.

It's also due to you growing as a Christian, and I don't want to sin.

But now your yanking my cords, but it's not that strong, its a string.

You're so important to me, that your words are like permanent sting.

But the anger is building and when it bursts my words I'm going to fling.

You say your only looking out for me.

But you only tell me what you want me to be.

You only tell me what you want me to do.

It's as if you want me to be a better version of you.

Don't get me wrong, I can understand that.

But there still remains the that one single fact.

You are you and I am me

To every man their own dream, their own philosophy

I will always be your child, but not always a boy

And I refuse to live my life by your plot, you ploy

I want you to understand but just like me, youre a hard headed man

But for my life I have my own goals, my own plan

I'll take your advance, and use it as best

But you trying to make me better, makes me feel less

I feel like you're not proud of me, and that's a weight I carry on my chest

But I love you dad, and believe or not, I'm trying my best

I have stated my thoughts, so my ranting, I'll give it a rest

You'll probably never see it, but I confessed
