Alpha King's POV

It was not just any day, it was the day of the presentation of the cubs. You could already see the full moon and the members of the pack preparing everything for the night. But I never noticed the gray cloud that was coming.

I was very focused and preoccupied supervising the final details for the ceremony with Tom, my beta. Although my father had retired from command a few years ago, this was the first time I had prepared the ceremony alone. He said that this was a very important and traditional moment, that the proper protocols should be followed so that everything goes well and does not turn into a disaster. He still considered me unsuitable for these types of events, but if it weren't for Mom's intervention, taking him on vacation during these dates, he would be in charge of all this now.

Suddenly, my general contacted me through the mental link to warn me of an attack coming from the eastern border. I was heading there when other members began to report to me intruders entering from the other borders.

I began to organize the counterattack. He was nervous and lost. To be honest, we weren't prepared for this kind of massive attack, it had always been small groups of rogues who were easily reduced, but this was a rebellion. The first rebellion since my great-grandfather's time.

When I started to go towards one of the borders, my beta stopped me, I looked at him hysterically, about to yell at him to move.

"My king, your family needs you. Luna Alba has been desperately asking for you. I'll take care of everything here in the meantime. " -He said decided and pushing me towards the house.

I looked at him, realizing that I was blocking the bond with my mate, and I began to feel her fear and concern, I nodded towards what he had said and ran in the direction of the castle. When I arrived, I saw everyone running around and Alba desperately trying to instruct the women and omegas what to do.

"Honey, I'm sorry, I didn't realize th-..."- she cut me off.

"Lina, they killed Lina". - I could only look at her stunned. At what moment? How? Where? That was the only thing I could think, the attack had just started at the borders, how was it possible? The omegas weren't allowed to walk alone near those areas- "I can't find Seokjin or Taehyung either".

"Don't worry, Jin knows what to do in these situations and Taehyung is probably with him". -I said trying to reassure her or ... to reassure myself- "Where's Sasha?" We need her urgent help.

"Don't worry?" -growled- "They are my children, someone also tried to kill Yoongi and M ..."- she stopped abruptly. Her eyes gleamed, hinting that she had been mentally contacted.

"What? What's the matter? " - I asked alarmed.

But there was no time for an answer. It was late, they were already inside the city, wounding and killing everyone who crossed their road.

"You go and look for the children. Hide". -I told Alba, while I was going to prevent them from reaching the mansion. I gave her one last look and left.

I contacted Tom to tell him to find Sasha and for him to tell her that she should secure the castle. No one had seen her since morning and I just hoped she's somewhere doing some weird spell to help us. If not, I will make sure I pull his head off her when I see her.

I got to the main streets heading into the city and uptown. It was a total slaughter, there was blood everywhere and dismembered human and wolf bodies. Four wolves, not belonging to my pack, came out of the shadows, two from each side. I was about to transform when an unfamiliar howl was heard, followed by more howls, including from the wolves that were surrounding me. I looked up, to detect where it came from, but all I saw was the big full moon overhead and then I heard the shout of my Luna and one of my cubs.

I transformed, I could feel the fury and despair running through my entire body. At that moment, Harold, one of the veteran generals of the pack, came running from the city. He nodded for me to leave, as he confronted the intruders. I nodded approvingly and headed home.

When I arrived, they had already entered the castle. Many of my members were fighting the intruders to prevent them from entering, I could even distinguish scents of omegas that were fighting. I saw my brother, near the main entrance, fighting three. I went to help him. I grabbed one by the neck and snapped it in a second, at the same time that I hit another with my hind legs, sending him towards the side stairs that led into the garden. As Joongki fought off the other one, I heard a cry for help. I never imagined that it would be the last time I would hear that squeaky little voice.

"Yoooongiii. Help meeeeee" - yelled my little girl, who was silenced by the hand of a man who had a mask that covered her entire face.

I growled at the werewolf who was carrying her, warning him to leave her, and I threw myself at him, but surprisingly two wolves, members of my pack, intervened, while a third pressed me to the ground and injected something into my neck.

The last thing I saw was the look of terror from my cub and the tip of a tattoo, of what appeared to be an arrow, protruding from the sleeveless t-shirt werewolf.

¡Oh, father! How I wish you were here, I probably skipped something to have ended up in this catastrophic situation.
