Chapter 2: Gleam

Namjoon looked at Jin and Tae, both are sitting on the corner of the party hall away from the commotion.

Jin is sipping on his wine and Tae is drinking some strawberry fruit punch.

He sighed when he saw another alpha approaching the omega’s table with an intention to get them to dance with him. He gritted his teeth, when he saw that guy eyeing on Jin hungrily.

‘There are dumb people who don’t respect on the sacred mating bond’ he thought.

Before he could block the alpha from coming near the omega’s, to his surprise, somebody else did it. Joon snickered and shook his head when he saw Jungkook glaring at the stranger alpha puffing his chest looking all intimidating.

The unknown alpha left immediately from there, doesn’t want to go against a pissed off Jeon. Joon’s smile widen when he saw Jungkook’s change of attitude when he turn to face Tae. Jungkook’s doe eyes shined bright like he can hold the entire galaxy inside it.

Jin who was watching the scene carefully, offered Jungkook a seat next to him, when he saw how jungkook scared off the alpha. Jungkook bowed and sat on the chair. Joon decided to join them when he saw the shy glances between Tae and Jungkook. ‘It’s not one-sided ah’ he thought.

“Jungkookie, This is Tae, my baby brother. Tae, this is Jeon Jungkook, Joonie’s and Yoon’s best friend. You have seen each other before right?”, Jin introduced them. Both of them nodded in response.

“Hello”, Tae shyly said.

“Hi, nice to meet you”, Jungkook told.

“Why are you so formal? ”, Jin exclaimed.

‘Read the room babe’, Joon thought as he cleared his throat to get their attention.

“Hi guys”, Joon said and sat next to Jin pecking on his lips as a greeting.

“Did you guys eat something? ”, Joon asked looking at Tae and Jin.

“No, we were waiting for you honey. ”, Jin answered with a sweet smile.

“I ate some deserts. ”, Tae mumbled feeling too shy to talk because of Jungkook.

Jungkook looked at Tae fondly as the omega’s cheeks turn slightly pink. He was so concentrated on watching Tae, he missed Joon’s question.

“Kook, join us. I know you didn’t eat yet”, Joon smiled and shook Jungkook’s shoulder to get his attention.

“Su.. Sure let’s eat. ”, Jungkook stammered back, eyes wide in shock. His expression changed when he heard giggles from Tae. A bunny smile automatically appeared on his face.

They went to get food and started eating, in between conversing about themselves.

Tae became talkative after some time and started bickering with Jin. Both alpha watched them bickering, serving them the food in between.

They were having fun with Jin’s dad jokes. Taehyung even gave Jungkook an unimpressed look when he laughed out loud on Jin’s lame joke.

“I sense a grand wedding so soon. ”, Mrs. Min exclaimed observing the next table.

“Yes, our alpha bunny is too whipped. He is not even blinking. Jeon alpha’s are such a cute bunch when they are in love.”, Mrs. Jeon replied amused.

“You should initiate the wedding proposal soon then, because there are a large group of suitors after Taehyung. Now, Jimin is out of the equation, they will try to pursue the alliance with Tae. ”, Mrs. Kim, Namjoon’s mother stated thoughtfully.
