"Goldie.. Mr. Afton."

The words had struck his conscience like a dagger.

"O-Ohh.. Yes. My apologies." Chances were zero. "How are you feeling?"

"I'm fine.. Thank you, Dad."

William quickly turned his eyes and attention to him. "How.. how did you call me?.." It seems unreal.

"I'm not allowed anymore..? I'm sorry. I didn't know." He looked down guilty, even scared inside.

"No no!- " Cough short. "Yeah.. I didn't say you didn't anymore. ... So you remember?"

"Yeah.. Yeah I remember. But that doesn't mean I need one."

"Yes- Of course not- You don't need to- one." He looked away, feeling like he was in the past again.

"But we all need a model, don't we? A father. And I didn't have one." He smiled at him. "So I'd love for you to be that person."

William looked at him long, thoughtful and confused. "But.. you know my past. You know how I was with.. them."

"And yet, you were much better than I have.." He smiled weakly. "Can.. I ask you a favor?"

"Of course. Say it."

"Can you.. improve me? To not being a nightmare anymore.. Change me." His gaze had fallen to the floor, but there was a glimmer of hope in them.

"You don't like being a nightmare? But what about Nightmare?"

"He'll understand.. And no, I don't like being a nightmare.. I don't like to scare the world, people, kids. Even this animatronic program is really quiet.. Especially when I'm in plush and around C.C."

"Okay. I'll do it. But you have to be offline."

Goldie approves, now offline. Afton stared at him for a long time, trying harder to gather his thoughts. It wasn't until ten minutes later that he started working. Afton stayed in his office until midnight. Maybe he's dead, but he's still tired. He watched his palms stained with oil, and how they wiped at the touch of cold water. He throws cold water on his face to wake up after a cup of caffeine. He threw himself on the office chair as he sipped the black coffee like his soul. Intense purple eyes stared at the work of his hands. It wouldn't look like a nightmare to his client. When he had two more rounds of coffee, he decided it was the time.

"Fredbare Power On."

Crimson eyes had appeared in black slereotics. They looked left and right, up and down. He looked at his hands, which no longer had the claws of a nightmare. He looked at his 'creator', who had taken the penultimate sip of coffee.

"You really changed me.."

He placed the cup on the desk. "I said I'd do it, and I did. It's a mirror across the way if you want to see yourself with the illusion disc on."

The animator returned, stepping carefully to the mirror. He looked up and down, quickly starting the illusion, he liked that shape better. His hair was changing, he was a little longer than usual, pinned to the right, caught in blue flowers. He knew their symbol, the only gift he had received from his parents before everything took it down the path of drinking and arguing. He had always kept them.

"You like it?" Afton asked, finishing his coffee.

"If I like it? I love it!" He turned a few times, stopping to look at William. "Thanks a lot!!"

Will smiled briefly. "No problem. Have you seen your animatron?"

"A little.. But I'm ecstatic!!" Turns back into an animatron. "I look new! Almost new, but I'm not a nightmare anymore!"
