"Lou, I'm home," Amber called as she walked in the door.

"Ruby! Mommy's home too," Rose called.

"Mommy!" The little girl and running out of Louis' room.

"Hi sweetie, Did you have fun with Louis?"

"Yeah we had so much fun! We painted his bedroom. Come see," she said pulling both Rose and Amber.

"Wow," both mothers said in unison.

"What's going on?" Louis asked as he walked out of the bathroom.

"We're admiring your painting skills," Amber replied.

"Mom!" He said running to give her a hug, "Ms.Rose!" He said smiling to Ruby's mother.

"Hello dear!"

"Took you guys long enough to get home! It's Wednesday." He said pulling away from his mother.

"Well there was a few delays," Amber said giving her son the to be continued look.

"I'm just glad you're home," both Lou and Ruby said to their mothers.

"Ruby why don't you go grab your things? We'll leave Louis and Ms.Amber alone for the day."

"Okay! Louis can I take my unicorn home?"

"Yes of course Silly."

About 10 minutes later Rose and Ruby left.

"So you wanna fill me in first or should I?" Amber asked her son.

"You first mother,"

"Okay well good news you're officially graduated high school and never have to go another day in your life." She said smiling.

"Omg!!!! That's great but what's the bad news?" He said as his smile turned into a frown realizing the good news came first because nothing could make the bad news seem less bad.

"The pills are broken working anymore for Rose and they're also not working on me." She said grabbing her son's head into her cheat before he could react.

"W-w-what?" He said sobbing into her chest.

"It's okay honey. The good news from all this is it hasn't spread for either one of us but when you've processed this Rose has a decision she'd like you to make."

He lifted his head up and wiped away his tears. The thing with Louis is he's a very smart boy which is why he was able to graduate so early in his senior year, but he doesn't always know how to react to situations and news.

"Ummm, I just remembered I left my airpods at Haz's house I'll be back."

"Ok?" His mother replied confused but understood this was how he chose to react. Before she was able to say anything else Lou was out the door.

No no no! This can't be happening! Ruby can't lose both her parents! I can't lose my mom! OMG!!! What if Rose wants me to be Ruby's legal guardian after she passes? No! I mean I love Ruby and everything but I'm not good enough to raise her. I knew eventually the pills would stop working and the cancer would kill them both but I never thought we'd loss them both around the same time. I- I- I- can't. I don't know.

And then his world started spinning and went dark. Those being the last thoughts that went through his mind as he collapsed on the driveway where he had been standing.

"LOUIS!" Amber shouted running out of the house, "Louis! Louis? Can you hear me?"

He just laid there, she found a place and drove him to the hospital quickly.

"What happened to Louis, Amber?" The doctor asked.

"I, I-, I don't know Anthony." She managed to get out fighting back tears.

"Okay. It's okay, he'll be okay." He said rubbing his colleague's and friend's back.

"Thank you Anthony," Amber forced a little smile.

After Amber had calmed down and had some food and water Anthony asked he what had happened before Louis collapsed,

"Rose and I returned from our trip and I had just finished telling him the news," she trailed off, "and he said he forgot something at Harry's n ran out the door. Then he stood in the driveway for 5 minutes. Oh my God. He was overthinking so much that his body couldn't handle all of the stress from all those thoughts, all the different what ifs because of the news." She couldn't breathe.

"Hey! Look at me. Amber! Look at me," Anthony said lifting her head, "it is not your fault. He'll be okay. I promise. Ok?"

She nodded,

"Why don't you go call Rose?"

"Okay." She said giving him a hug.
