Surveillance

The team had returned back to the police department early the next morning. They had dressed in normal looking close because they were about to go undercover. Valerie met them there- she was getting ready for a simple work day. She felt a sense of comfort knowing the agents were there watching over her.

"So myself, Rossi, Reid and Parker will look around the cafe. We will enter just before Valerie so it doesn't seem a tad suspicious. We'll sit down, act like a couple co workers on a lunch break, nothing crazy. JJ and Prentiss walk around the salon, check out the stuff they sell, talk to people ask questions and act normal. Morgan, you can walk around with the girls, pretend to be one of their partners or-" prentiss cuts Hotch off.

"Wouldn't it make more sense for Parker to go to the salon with us? She's a girl- Hotch she doesn't need men to protect her JJ and I can do just as good as a job or you boys can." Prentiss says. Kat laughs at Hotch's shocked expression.

"Alright. She'll go with you. Call us if you see anything suspicious." Hotch says.

"Will do." She replies, looking over and giving Kartina a smile. She quickly returns it.

The 2 groups leave the police department and drive down once against to where they were yesterday. Prentiss and JJ had looked back at Katrina every now and again.

"In pain still?" JJ finally breaks the thick silence filling the SUV. Kat glances up at her through the rear view mirror and shrugs.

"Theres a slight stinging, but I'll manage." She replies. "Thank you." She quickly adds.

"You know Parker.." Prentiss starts. "You've been with us for more than a year. You can joke around and be friendly, we consider you family just like every other person on our team. Believe it or not, Hotch does too just.. Doesn't show it as much." She says, smiling a crooked smile.

"I haven't been here as long as the rest of you.. I just thought.." She doesn't know how to phrase it.

"You can hang around us, ask us to go places, joke around, tell us funny stroies, we're here for that to give you closure and comfort. Or if ou just need a friend." JJ adds in. Katrina smiles at the both of them.

"Well I have a story then." She says, adjusting her sitting position. "I'm sort of close with Spencer if you don't see."

"Oh we see, the kid has the biggest crush on you." Prentiss laughs.

"What? No he doesn't. A-anyways..." She trails. "Do you guys know if i don't take my meds I have panic attacks? It's been happening for a while. Well, One night when we were away on a case i got a nightmare and, woke up in panic. I started, well getting a panic attack. I tried calling one of you girls but hell it was like 3 am. But I called Spencer and he came over and comforted me. Then he slept in the other bed in my room." She explains.

"Then again last night, well because of Tom and all that it just built up and I broke down. I called him and went to his room.." Prentiss and JJ both gasp and give her a suggestive look.

"Nothing happened! We uh, talked and hugged -"

"Spencer? Our very own Spencer Reid hugged you?" JJ asks, her mouth hanging open.

"For a while. He whispered comforting things in my ear, stroked my hair, then we fell asleep." Their eyes are wide. "Same bed." She adds.

"What! Oh my god- Morgan will get a kick out of this!" Prentiss says.

"Thats honestly adorable Katrina, oh my god you two are adorable." JJ says.

"What? No it's jsut a friendly thing- we're just really close."
