NOTE:

Trigger Warning

****

- Master... You shouldn't...  -   the midwife started.

She looked exhausted and disheveled, but Lan Xichen absolutely ignored her  and just pushed her away from his path with a growl  –   his eyes were on the bed, now totally drenched in blood. In a haze, he stumbled and approached, falling to his knees by the bedside, hardly able to breathe.

Jiang Wanyin looked peaceful and asleep, but he was so pale that Lan Xichen shuddered; his lips were deadly blue and Zewu-Jun could easily see the fine veins on his eyelids and the throbbing artery on his neck. He faintly knew that people were talking to him, but he ignored all   –  his whole world was in front of his eyes now, lying in this bloody bed.

- Wanyin... Beloved... Wanyin?  –  he murmured, kissing his cheek very carefully.

He was lying very still, and in one terrible second Zewu-Jun feared that he wasn't breathing. Hurriedly, he checked his pulse, and shared his spiritual energy with him, dizzy and trembling.

- Master! Here is your son, Master!

The doctor was grinning, satisfied with the work well done. He knew too well that Master Lan was too worried for his husband   –   it was always like that the first time around, and it often looked a lot worse than it really was, and he also knew the Masters too well by now.

- Zewu-Jun, just let him rest. He will be fine, once he is rested.  –  the doctor tried to sound reassuring.

Letting go of his magic, but not letting go of Jiang Wanyin's hand, he now turned his face to see the midwife, who was grinning too, holding a small bundle that was moving and shaking tentatively.

- I want to see... Let me see...

Jiang Cheng had turned his head and was speaking weakly, but still his loved one heard him. Tears were falling down Lan Huan's cheeks as the woman placed the baby in his husband's arms.

- He is beautiful, my love... Just like his father...  -  he said quietly, but proudly.

- Huan...

They stared at each other with so much love that everybody left the room, letting them just be with their new baby. The heir of the Lan Clan was small and pink, but still feisty  –  it seems as if he wanted to make his way out of the blanket as soon as possible.

- Still kicking, my love?  -  Jiang Wanyin mumbled unhappily, leaning in to kiss the wrinkled warm body.

Lan Huan laughed through tears; this was the happiest he remembered ever being.

- Thank you for giving me this joy, Sandu Shengshou.  –   he murmured.  –  I am so proud of you, kitten... The both of you. You are both perfect.

Lan Xichen was kissing his hair and his hands, trying to stop the happy tears, unable to look away. It was finally over. All was finally fine.

All of them were fine.
