You, Bucky, Sam, Steve, Nat and Wanda were all sat around a table in a loud bar, occasional cheers of middle aged men roared around the room as a hockey game unfolded on the tv screen. Faint echoes of Marvin Gaye and Jimi Hendrix could be heard from the jukebox across the oddly comforting place.

You all took turns talking about your worlds worst dates all tipsy and hysterically laughing at the ridiculous stories you shared.

"And he brought me flowers that he had dug. up. from some random ladies garden, because he was caught up in another date with some other girl he had been seeing" Wanda spat.

Nat chuckled before mumbling "Where do men even find the audacity..."

[Y/N] chuckled before exclaiming "at least he put effort into the flowers. Me on the other hand... never has a guy brought me flowers."

Sam faked a gasp, clasping his hand over his mouth. "THE AUDACITY" he said, mocking Natasha's comment, before giggling and slinging a flirty arm around you.

Bucky and Steve both snickered at Sam's smooth tactics to have an excuse to be closer to you.

An unnecessarily loud yawn came from Steve's mouth as he slapped his knees. "Right... It's getting late and we have an early start tomorrow. We should get going"

The rest of us giggled at Steve's assumption we were willing to wake up at 5am to put ourselves through the torture that Steve called 'cardio'

"Sure we do" Bucky said sarcastically, jumping his eyebrows and rolling his eyes to the group.

As the rest of the group gathered their coats and said their goodbyes, you and Sam helped briefly clear the table that was left a mess. Of course neither of you had to, but you knew better than to leave a mess that the bartender, Weasel, would have to clear up.

"Thanks guys" Weasel said, giving both you and Sam a polite smile and he started to wipe down the table.

"This way madam" Sam said in a terrible posh accent, before flashing his big grin at you and holding an arm out for you to support each other, as u hobble drunkenly down the street.

You smiled back at him, your eyes lighting up and eyes crinkling at the sides.

New York at this time of night was your favourite. Rain drowning out the noises of intoxicated peoples arguments and the sounds of impatient people road raging as they rushed their way through the city.
Tall buildings loomed over you two as passbyers weaved around you avoiding your zigzag route along the pavement.

Your hair became increasingly wet as you both rushed under some scaffolding to shelter you from the storm around you.

"Is it true that no guy has ever brought you flowers?" Sam asked.

"Yes, what does that say about me, huh?" You answered in a melancholy tone, feeling slightly embarrassed.

Sam looks from your eyes to up around you, avoiding eye contact. "That you date ungrateful assholes." Answering in a way that took the 'blame' off you, that you assumed was there.

You laugh slightly. Sam turns away looking for something when a small lit up shop catches his eye.

"Stay right here" he says as he jogs across the street.

Two minutes later he comes back with a small bouquet of bright flowers and hands them to you.

"For you.."

You smile and blush as he grabs your free hand and carries on walking you home.

As you walk up the stairs to the entrance of your apartment building, you shout your goodbyes to Sam and thank him for the flowers. Not realising he was right behind you. He grabs ahold of your arm and spins you around. His lips crash into yours as he stands over your. One hand holding your jaw, the other reaching round and stroking your hair gently.

He pulls back for air as the rain drops roll down his face. He rests his forehead on yours and closes his eyes as you look up at him, stunned. Regrets start to attack his brain, screaming at him as, what he thought was, rejection struck his heart.

You slowly reach your hand up to the side of his face and rub your thumb over this cheek as you pull him in for another kiss. This time his tounge explores your mouth as you hook your arm around his neck, pulling him closer.

As you both pull away you see a grin form on his face as he saw yours.

"Get a room!!" Shouted a hobo from across the street.

Sam laughs to himself in relief as the homeless man allowed him to recognise he wasn't dreaming.

"See you tomorrow?" He says cooly holding in the urge the scream and dance in victory.

"Of course.." you say sleepily.

As you turn around you smile to your self and let yourself into the building.

Across the street sam starts celebrating as he walks home dancing along the sidewalk, lifting the homeless guys hand up and high-fiving him. Ecstatic shocks raced through his body as he whoops and fist pumps the air.
