Chapter 3: rock and roll

" so just beyond this door is Freddy ? As in , the Freddy ?" You asked In unbelief, Sundrop nodded . A beam of light flashed the door then back over suns features as he began in another explanation. " why of course, although, I don't know much about anything outside of the daycare - I can hear the security guards talk . So at-least we have some sort of confirmation." Sun shrugged , the flashlight fumbled around in his hands as he walked forward and past you . " all we need to do is open the door and ...?" The door handle jiggled , Sundrop turning it with no response. He twisted it again , another metallic jiggle sounded back .

" oh boy ... that's a problem." Sundrop said dreadfully . You frowned and crossed your arms , your eyes sending a glare at Sundrops back . " let me guess , we can't just walk in - can we ?" Sundrop slowly backed away from the doorknob and let out a slim breath . " unfortunately, yes . We need to find a way in though ." He flashed the light once again at the door . You noted that ever since you gave him the flashlight in the elevator, he would flash it at things to accent his point . You didn't quite know whether to take this as annoying, or a nervous tic he often did . Either way , it didn't change how you felt on this dilemma; you were stuck wondering how you were going to break into the room and survive the time before then . You pulled Sundrop over to a mirage of cardboard cutouts and set him down behind a Monty gator themed one , you had found yourself comfortably seated behind paper chica . You shushed sun while a security bot roamed past , wheels whirring past you in its endless struggle to support the things weight . After a moment of silence you spoke up , head popping in and out , eye-balling  the lower field before you.

" you have little information, but that's fine , because I know something called ' intuition' ." You began , flashing a bemused grin as Sundrop sputtered in confusion. You leaned back and rested your eyes as you spoke nonchalantly.

" I know that employees have to have some sort of map or instruction manual to even begin walking around this place . And it's most likely that we will find some in a janitor closet or office of some sort , so , here's the plan ..." you swiveled back towards sun and wrung your hands . Sundrop looked determined as he nodded in agreement, you stole that moment of silence as a yes to whatever you were going to say next .

" you need to help me get across that hall - all the way towards the exit , we'll figure out what happens from there ." You grinned as you said this , Sundrop, though ... oh nevertheless he was going to do what he could to keep you safe ! Sun nodded and grappled you up , now you were being dragged towards the closed exit . You could barely keep up with sun as he swiped past every guard bot and palm tree that stood in your path , you trudged as close as you could to avoid-

Oh no ... a loud buzzer sounded in your ear as one of the guards swerved towards you , your heart beat quickened as adrenaline started hitting at your head . All you could muster up was a high pitched : " run!" Sun panicked and stood shocked as you let him go and sprinted down the hall . After seconds of running you realized that you had left sun behind, you sneaked back as quick as you could .

" whatta' ya' doing here , Sunny ?" An accent filled voice rang , sun perked up and turned around .

" Monty ! Uhmmm... well - I just was looking around and these bots mistook me for an intruder so -!" Sundrop started , hopes generally high , but his voice dropped as he continued. " I got a little caught up in shock to move ... sorry to bother you ..." sun rubbed the back of his neck , the flashlight still shined on his bright features . Monty flinched at the sudden sullen tone sun took on and lowered his head to his level as he frantically tried cheering him up .

" no no no- your no trouble -! I mean , your not ever going to bother me per say ... hey - look 'ere , your never gonna bother this ol' gator anytime ! In fact , yer' company at the golf'n range has been a big boost for me !" Monty half smiled , his glasses slipped down to reveal no longer glowing red eyes - but rather a soft brown that shined orange under the light . Sun smiled ear to ear at that .

" you really think so ? Although it's a treacherous journey though the vents , it's all worth it with a friend like you !"  Monty wilted for a moment , then smiled nervously and chuckled.

" yeah ... I agree , with a friend like ...me ..." Monty trailed off , his eyes now focused on suns hands as they coiled around the flashlight. Then his head snapped back up and he flashed a smile , his sullen tone lost and replaced with one of an optimistic child .

" whatta say we ditch this spot and head over to El chips ? I'm sure you guys would love the food !" Your heartbeat quickened when he said that , you thought he meant you as well . But sun merely smiled warmly and patted his cheek .

" I would love to go to El chips with you , but ... I have some business I need to take care of first ." Sun smiled again and walked off , Monty stood there and watched him before turning away . "Goddammit you big dope ! They just walked away - I need to go after them - no , would that be creepy?" You heard Monty mutter to himself as he combed a hand though his hair , you saw sun walking towards you - you frantically flapped your hands to tell him to stop . Sun kept walking, he was about six feet from you before Monty yelled out from behind him .

" y'know- I could help ! Or - or just ... you know ... walk with you ?" Monty said while fidgeting with the hem of his spiked bracelet cuff . Sun looked at him , then at you - then back to him . You looked like a murderer was about to kill you , fear and confusion written all over you .

" uhm- w-well ... are you okay with company ? Because-!" Monty grabbed suns shoulders and pulled him close .

" of course! I am a hundred percent okay with that ! If it means I'll get to hang out with you I'll do it !" Monty said , you couldn't tell what face he was making- the glasses obscured his eyes and face coveted in shadow. You groaned .

" oh thank the stars ! Come with me !" Sundrop exclaimed while dragging Monty over by his hand .

Oh no ... this has got to be the WORST thing to happen right now .
