You watched as Sundrop opened and closed his mouth like a goldfish- after telling him about your crazy adventure, he was utterly speechless. After moments without any luck of mustering a word , he resorted to pointing and violent hand movements. You chuckled, it was quite a sight to see .

" well , I don't see why you never knew about it - they aren't very ... subtle ." You let out at last , hinting towards the fight previous to this conversation. Sundrop sat looking frustrated for a moment , eyes darting across the room . He crossed his arms and huffed .

" no , I never knew about it because... I never wanted to believe it was me doing those things ." Sundrop looked down , eyes now strained to his shoes . You let out a breath as your eyes grew wide .

" you- you knew it was you ? All this time-! I always thought -!" Sundrop lifted a hand . " it's not about what you thought , it's about the fact that I have no memory of it ... if only I could stop it ..." Sunny trailed off , regret carved deep in his voice . You trailed the lines of his face , no trace of a smile left . Your throat felt closed off .

" how do you know it's you if you have no memory of it ?" A sharp intake of air sounded from Sundrop , eyes now trained on you . You knew you were right - Sundrop can't recall anything, and he hasn't tried looking into it before - so how can he be so sure ? " when I spoke to him , he knew about you , but never recognized you as himself ." Sundrop appeared thoughtful, eyes far off as if lost in thought . You stood , watching his movements , inspecting how his face scrunched and squished in emotion . Now you missed that sickening sweet smile , the one he had when you got used to him in that first hour . Sundrop hit something gold in his mind - you could tell by the way his face loosened and his mouth was left agape . You opened yours to speak , but was interrupted by a long bang and crash outside the area . Your features fell in distraught .

" oh no , they're getting closer - Sundrop ! We have to run !" You whispered harshly . Sundrop looked back at you , but didn't seem to agree .

" I - I don't know what will happen if I leave ... I don't wanna hurt you ." He whispered back . The way his voice trembled and his hand clenching at his stomach - it had left your heart deflated. You shook your head . " they know I'm here - I feel it . We have to go , your the only one so far who hasn't tried to kill me . Please ..." the last came out , barely above a whisper , your voice was cracking . After long seconds , he nodded , his hand moved to his stomach . With a press , it opened with a eerie creak . Inside is what looked like a lot of candy , some band aids, and a flashlight. He hurriedly swiped the flashlight and closed it . Handing it to you with shaky hands .

" oh - uhm , thanks . We - we should go." You reluctantly took it , pretending not to notice the tomato red tint that spread on Sundrops face . He nodded again , ending it with a squeak and scurried away . You pushed the door open and hurried down the hall , trying not to make much sound .

" there - the exit !" You whispered towards Sundrop . " do you want me to carry you out ?" He asked , you thought for a little- apparently too long - because Sundrop got impatient and scooped you up and walked towards the daycares exit . You now dangled like a kitten by the scruff , Sundrop being the obviously larger cat carting you around .

" what's your name ? You never told me !" Sundrop said , pep now back in his tone . You let out an "oh" of surprise .

" I'm sorry - it's y/n !" You answered . Sundrop laughed softly .

" I'll just call you sunshine !" You giggled, Sundrop seemed to always find a way to make you smile . You watched as neon signs glowed brighter , chairs and tables and stages became visible. But you also realized that it was darker - far darker from when you were in the daycare . You fumbled with the flashlight and pointed it at Sundrop , and just in time too .
