Chapter one
Slowly my eyes started to open. The burned in the light of the bright sun. Wait, that’s not the sun… What is that?
“Alex, you’re going to be okay! Don’t Worry! I love you! You’re going to be okay! I promise!” Someone screamed from a distance. What is going on? I attempted to open my eyes with no luck, the refused to open due to the bright light shining in my face.
Black.
“Alex, please please, please wake up!” I heard a voice call to me. I tried to force my eyes open but they just wouldn’t. I wanted to assure them I was okay that everything was going to be fine, but I wish someone would tell me that right now.
Black.
I woke to a bright light in my face, again. But this time my eyes finally agreed to open. The bright light was not the sun. It was a lamp over my hospital bed, wait… hospital bed? What is going on?
“Oh my god! You’re okay! You’re okay!” A voice said from across the room, they clearly had been crying.
“Huh?” I spoke rubbing my sleepy eyes, and then finally recognized the voice –my sister Sarah. - “I’m ‘okay’ why wouldn’t I be okay?”
“You don’t remember?” Sarah said confusingly, “Alex, you got kidnaped!” Her tone grew louder. My eyes widened. Kidnaped? No. No, I couldn’t have! I would have remembered!
“No, no I couldn’t have! I would have remembered if I got kidnaped Sarah!” I spoke as I shook my head.
“Alex, we both got kidnaped. A-and…” she trailed off on the last part.
“And?”
“W-well, so did m-mom a-and dad… b-but they… they didn’t exactly make it…”
I felt my heart drop to the pit of my stomach; my eyes teared up and made it impossible the see Sarah.
“No, no…No!” was all I could manage to say.
“I’m so sorry, I’m so, so sorry” Sarah repeated as she hugged me by the waist. She brought her self onto my bed and hugged me as we cried. We cried for what seemed to be hours until I possible had nothing else to cry out. This can’t be happening.
“Sarah?” I spoke
“Yeah.” Her voice clearly shown she had been crying.
“Earlier someone was yelling to me that I was going to be okay, what happened?” She lifted her head and rested it onto my shoulder.
“Oh, that was me… Well we escaped for our kidnappers, it sounds weird saying that, and we we’re running through the woods just five miles away from town and you tripped on a root of a tree and hit your head off a big rock. You had a bad concussion.” Had? That was only yesterday?
“Had? But that was only two days ago…”
“No it was about five days ago. The kidnapers got us again, we were there for about two weeks but you were throwing up a lot and you couldn’t sleep then I finally got us away and I brought you here. But your concussion has finally gone and passed now.”
