"Papá never told me this kind of arrangement. And he will never allow this."
"You are my fiancée, as you've said earlier, princesa. So people will not be shocked if you stay with me." A devilish grin from him danced in her eyes right now but he doesn't really care.
"But —"
"This is my world, princess," Jihoon said while walking towards her. "Maybe as your tradition, the bride will be staying with her family until the day of the wedding— but my tradition is different.."
She took a step backward, her defense starting to crumble. "But— things do not have to be like that, are they? I . . . I mean —"
Jihoon enjoyed this power. The one he had over her more than he should have. He continued to walk towards her like a predator cornering his prey. "What do mean, princess?"
She swallowed hard. "Maybe I'll call Papá to arrange a house for me. We really don't have to live together."
She sounds so hopeful and brave at the thought that she can arrange a house for herself. It was very insulting— women fight for the chance to have the opportunity to live with him, and yet, this heiress— this prim Spanish-Filipino princess, would rather call her father and let him buy her a house here.
It is fucking insulting, He thought furiously.
"Sorry to disappoint you, baby." He tried to dose my fury. Gaving her a reassuring smile. "But the moment you step in this very land, you're already under my protection. And I will not like you to be on your own. This damn hell city can be dangerous."
Hesitation showed in her eyes. His anger started to build up again. As if, in the past hour that she was with him, he had never proven that he is harmless, However, the thought of her being his wife . . .
"Very well," She said regally, though her eyes still had their defiance on their depths. "It is maybe a good chance to get acquainted with each other very well."
He tried to hold back his smile but he could feel the sides of his lips twitch.
"How can I arrive at your home, Jihoon?"
It was the second time she said his name. He frowned. Was it good that he keeps counting it?
"I'll instruct my chauffeur to drive you to my penthouse building."
Ylina Kryztiantelle nodded like giving her servant permission. She moved forward while he was about to pick up the telephone and offered her hand. "It was nice meeting you, Lee Jihoon."
And he was stunned by the gesture but accepted the offered hand and felt an electric shock. He looked at her eyes and was damn sure that she felt the same. "All pleasure is mine, Princesa Ylina Kryztiantelle Araneta."
She snatched her hand back as if she was burned by his touch and he couldn't blame her. He felt the same way. She started to walk through the door with her killer heels. "Oh and one more thing."
"Yes?"
"Are you currently with someone? Dating— that is?"
He should have expected that question earlier. He smiled and answered honestly. "No. Not at the moment. And you?"
"No."
With that, the heiress walked without a backward glance and left her staring behind her.
