"Tsuki..." you said sheepishly over the phone, "don't hang up I need to tell you something."

He sighed, "What could it possibly be that is so important you called me at 6 am??" He said, groggily. you'd obviously just woken him up.

"Well, yknow after yesterday's revision session, which thank you so much for!! and then we went to get take out...well," You weren't sure how to tell him, you were afraid he would be annoyed.

"Just spit it out," He said "What could it be? like are you sick or something?"

"I guess you could say that..." you started, unsure what to say. "well. Tsukishima Kei get over here, please it's really important."

"Are you okay l/n?" he asked, sounding genuinely concerned.

"Yeah just, get over here, please?" You said, walking around your house until you reached the staircase which you meant against, sighing down the phone which he heard. "I'll see you in a bit yeah?"

"Alright, i'm on my way, I'll be there in like 10 minutes." He said, the sound of rustling on the other end showed he was moving around.

"Thank you and wear a mask." you replied, hanging up the phone and breathing out properly. Coughing slightly as you held 3 positive covid tests in your palm.

"Jesus...we just got take out and now i've got covid? this is fantastic," you mumbled to yourself.

Tsukishima Kei. Your best friend since middle school, he always seemed to dislike you and yet he cares so deeply about you. He knows that your favourite thing to do is read in the park, and he knows that you don't like Tuesdays because you have modern literature 2nd period. He knows that you adore animals and that you've wanted a cat since you were very little. You sat for a while on the stairs thinking about what life choices lead you up to this point when you heard the familiar chime of the door bell then Tsukishima yell,

"You alright?" Through the door, you put a mask on and then carefully opened the door.

"Hi tsuki...well, uhh just be careful but you can come in..." you said, opening the door fully.

"Thank you, now what's up? You never get me to come over at 6:30 am, we're gonna be late for school!" He said, concerned. He leaned against the wall in front of you as you stood awkwardly holding the covid tests in your hand.

"We probably won't be going to school." You said quietly, holding the tests out to him.

"Why are you showing me this...oh, right okay," he said, confused then it clicked in his head. You had the coronavirus. And probably by correlation so did he. "For fuck sake, how'd that happen?" He asked

"Yesterday, take out...I didn't mean for it to happen!! But it means we're gonna have to isolate together for 10 days..."

"Fuck sake, being stuck with you for 10 days is like my worst nightmare" he admitted, then looking at your hurt expression he followed on with, "I'm kidding, kinda. Being stuck with your for 10 days is gonna be hard cause you're kinda annoying but, yknow you're alright"

"Ouch tsukishima, that one hurt." You said, punching his shoulder. "I'll let school know, you need to do a covid test, there's like 3 boxes in the kitchen go help yourself."

He walked into the kitchen as you grabbed the phone and dialled Karasuno's office.
"Hiya, it's l/n y/n calling, I just wanted to let you know that I have tested positive for covid and Tsukishima Kei is doing a test at the moment as we were in close contact yesterday."

As if on cue, you heard Tsukishima sneeze several times from the kitchen which made you snicker. "Alright thank you. Yep we're going to isolate for 10 days together as not to spread it, thank you, bye." Walking into the kitchen you saw Tsukishima staring intensely at the rest as if it was going to work faster the longer he stared at it.

"It won't work if you're looking, it's got stage fright. Just let it do it's thing in peace without you staring into its soul." You chuckled, "it's almost like you want to go to school."

"Unlike you, I appreciate my education." He said sharply.

"What's got you in such a mood?" You asked. He just rolled his eyes and shook his head. "Alright keep your secrets, when you want to tell me just let me know."

"Yeah whatever, this is totally your fault." He said half jokingly, the two of you walked out of the kitchen and into the living room.
