Your OC's personality is the deciding factor of whether your OC is well-developed or not . Often , a lot of people fall short of describing their OC's personality . Here are the three ideas to help you write your OC's personality:
1. There must be good and bad traits . I think that for every good trait , there should be a bad trait to accompany it .
2. Be creative . To make an OC more interesting and alive , make them different . What's their favorite hobby ? What foods do they like / dislike ? Where's their happy place ?
3. MAKE . THEM . ENJOYABLE . If you are worried about your OC becoming a Mary Sue / Gary Stu , you may try to make them more average or boring . This RUINS an OC . If you try to make them boring , people will dislike reading about them .
Make a list on how they see certain things. Describe how they react to different types of people in good and bad ways. Describe their work ethic , morals , and how they make decisions. Write down their phobias , quirks , and other things that may be important to their personality. Write them like a real human being
