POV:Y/N
I woke up to the sound of the ringing of my alarm as I groaned in annoyance. "Whyyyyy worldddd" I moaned.
"(Y/n) come on you have to get up" laughed phenix that currently was packing his suitcase. Phenix was my best friend since highschool and we we're finally going to college...at least they were. Not to say i wasn't smart, i was average, but i just didn't have funds. "Come on that new job of yours is waiting" they laughed as they poured some coffee into 2 mugs.
"Ughhhh whyyy" I said and got up slowly and got changed. "Are you going to your new 'prestigious' college? And also whats with the suitcase are u leaving so soon? Are you already sick of me?" I laughed.
"Sadly yes" they laughed. "I have to get into my dorms early but I'll still come and visit don't worry...though I don't know how long your gonna last without me".
I laughed at that. "Pfff it'll be easy as pie! I'm very independent!" I stated and sipped my cup of coffee. "See I'm heading out rn to my new job so I can take care of myself!" I said walking out the door.
"Uhh huh" phenix said rolling their eyes. "Without your shoes???".
I looked down quickly. "...be quiet".
I arrived 5 min by the train and smiled. "This is it! I can do this!" I said walking in.
"Well thats the spirit kiddo" a old man said smiling. He had a blue cap on with the name James Johnson written across the top. Grey hairs poked out from underneath and even though he was old his eyes seemed to be just like a little kid.
"O-oh sorry its my 1st day on tho job" I studdered blushing from embarrassment. Geeze 1 min in and someone already heard my embarrassing self pep-talk. Greatttttt.
"Ohh I see your replacing me huh? Well here let me show you around and explain what you need to do before we open" he said with a teeth grin. He started walking away and I practically had to sprint to him. Geeze for a old man he could move.
He took me around and I met with other coworkers none that I would see much though.
"So who am I actually working with?" I said. That question was already picking at my brain for the past half hour and I wanted to know.
"Oh" the old man laughed. "Well you won't be working with any humans per sayyy but trust me you'll love em' when you meet em'!" He stated enthusiastically.
I laughed. "we'll see" I said as we made our way to a room with a large gold looking statue and a slide that looked like it went into a open room with a jungle gym and other thing I loved to play with as a kid. Oh the memories.
"Your gonna work down there with a lil fella named sundrop" he said with a toothy grin again.
"Ohh ok sweet!" I said enthusiastically. Then I paused. "...how do I get in?" I asked skeptically.
"You have to go down the slide over there into the ball pit!" He laughed. "Don't worry no kids are there yet so he'll immediately go over and meet you" he looked down and checked his watch. "Oh goodness I must leave its 10 min before the opening...it was nice meeting you and Goodluck!" He yelled and walked away.
"Hmm..so I just need to go down the slide?". I shrugged "eh whatever who was to childishly for a ballpit". I slid down to land into a deep pile of plastic balls. "Hmm so where's the exit..?"
"HO HO HO" a voice boomed. I quickly looked up to see a animatronics with the face of a sun dive in to the pool of plastic balls. Wait dive in?!?!?
I desperately started going to where it dropped. Crap its only my 1st day!? If a animatronic gets broken i-
"HELLO! New friend your here before the opening! Or did they open early without alerting my sensors?! Ohh what a hassle" he said picking me up by the waist and carrying ME out. This anamatronic looked fine. Wait did he think I was a kid?!l
"Umm don't worry it didn't open early" I laughed out of nervousment. "I'm your new coworker y/n and I'm gonna be helping u around the daycare" I smiled.
"Ohhhh so your not a kid..ok!" He said and set me down.
"Just because I'm small doesn't mean I'm a kid!" I know I'm smaller than the average person but still!
The animatronic started laughing "ohh ik y/n I'm just messing a bit" he said swaying side to side on his heels. I think the old man was right about him.
Later we proceed to do arts and crafts where we made small puppets out of socks and other small art supplies. We later even used those puppets as characters in a puppet show. After we decided to play hide and seek tag.
"I'm gonnaaaa getcha!" I said in a almost goblin voice as I slowly "ran" after a little kid who said his name was Adrian. Sun was waiting off to the side having a small break while I dealt with the last kid at the daycare before closing.
"Nuu I'm to fast for you!!!" Adrian ran giggling and panting at the same time. I have always been good with kids so I usually knew what was best.
I stopped and pretended to be out of breath. "Ahhh your so fast..I can't keep up!" I said fake panting throughout the whole thing. I could sense sun looking at me but I needed to keep the act up for now.
Adrian ran to a closed off side of the jungle gym and laughed till on the speakers is echoed "we are now closing in 10 min please gather your belongings and leave the facility please". Adrian immediately got scared. Geeze been there before.
"OK come here kiddo and let's take you up to see where your mother is ok?" I said with a nervous smile, kids could never tell the difference. Adrian nodded and we went up some stairs. Turns out there was a another way to get out than just the slide. We waited there for a few min till a large lady ran in. Adrian immediately shifted to a excited mood.
"Oh Adrian I'm so so so sorry I got lost and those map bots kept pointing me to different directions!" She said taking only 2 breaths per min. She put him into a tight hug. "OK let's go home now" she said holding his hands and walked away.
"Mom you'll never believe it but me and the nice person over there played tag and I ran so fast away she couldn't keep up!" He said more after that but it was fuzzed out. Sun put his hand on my shoulder. "Hey umm..we got a small bit of time before we close..did u wanna play 1 round of hide and seek tag before we pick up?" Sun asked shyly.
I laughed and turned to him. "Sure! But I'm gonna hide!" I smirked and ran to the slide into the ball pit then raised to find a hiding spot. "COUNT TO 70!!" I yelled as sun stood there with a huge smile, his smile.
