Chapter 10: I'm A Smart Jock

They got back home on a Sunday afternoon. The following two days after that night they made love was quite eventful. They went out fishing, hiking and swimming. They've been sweeter and more public with their affections now. The Jones on the other hand had left the next day after the embarrassing argument.

Today was Monday morning and Gwen is waiting for her boyfriend to come and pick her up for school. She told her mom that they're now official and her mom was quite confused coz all this time they thought they were already dating.

They were currently in the kitchen having breakfast. Gwen was drinking her milk when the doorbell rang. She knew it was him. She hurriedly picked up her bag and said her goodbyes to her parents and went straight to the door. There he stood wearing his uniform so neatly, hair fixed back but glasses was hanging on his collar. He looked so handsome for a nerd.

"Good morning, beautiful." He said reaching out for her hand to give a kiss. She blushed at his greeting. "Good morning, Mr. and Mrs. Porter." He said, poking his head at the door behind her.

"Good morning, Felix. Drive safe!" Her mom said and he gave her a big assuring smile while her dad gave him a nod and went back with reading his papers.

"Let's go?" Felix said with her hand in his, guiding her to the car. As the gentleman he is, he opened the car for her.

It was a comfortable silence as they drive with her hand still in his. She'd just lean into the car seat, eyes closed and inhaling the sweet, relaxing scent of his car.

"Baby?" He called, making her open her eyes to look at him. His eyes was still on the road.

"Yeah?" She replied.

"Is it okay if we keep us on the low?" She swallowed before nodding.

"Sure, no worries." Pain laced around those words.

"It's just that I don't want them picking on you."

"Yeah, I get it. It's fine." She smiled, knowing he wants what's best for her. Or was this evil thought of him wanting to keep it on the low to keep his nerd act still going? She sighed, making him look at her.

"We'll still have lunch together like we used to tho. I'll still walk with you." She nodded, looking outside. 'I'm being petty.'

She got out of the car even though he told her to wait for him to open it. He sighed. 'Fine. Then public it is.' He thought to himself and went to grab her hand. The feeling of his hand on hers made her heart melt but she somehow knew she's forcing him to do this for her so she slowly tried pulling her hand from him but he held on tightly that it almost hurt. She looked up at him and their eyes met.

"Oh what do we have here?" Jackson said to them. They didn't notice him before since their attention was focused on eachother. Gwen quickly pulled her hand from Felix, making him glare at her and she immediately looked away.

"Hey, dude. She's just acting up coz I told her we'll lay low." Felix said now looking at Jackson.

"I am not acting up. I'm just being obedient." Gwen replied.

"Psh, obedient. Don't worry ima get us  tshirts with your name on mine and my name on yours." Felix smirked making Gwen cross her arms and rolled her eyes, smiling.

"So you guys are official now?" Jackson asked.

"Yeah." He grabbed Gwen's hand out of her crossed arms, making her almost lose her balance. "This one's officially mine now." Gwen blushed at what he said so she looked down at her shoes to try and hide her now red complexion.
