Taking place after the events of Sonic Forces, The Rookie, real name simply being Xavier, wants to go home to that special someone of his. Who he hasn't seen since the war began...

The current scene takes place after the Great War between the Resistance vs. Dr. Eggman along with Infinite. Sonic and his friends along with the help of the Resistance had thwarted their evil deeds and peace was achieved.
The Rookie, or to very few people, Xavier, was outside Resistance HQ as he had decided to leave, not because he was completely done with helping, but he had someone to see again. After everything that had transpired, he just wanted to see her again.
He looks off into the sunset, lost in thought for a moment.
"Hey, you're taking off, too? I was thinking the same thing." He suddenly heard Sonic say, breaking him out of his thoughts.
"..Yeah I have someone to get back to." Xavier said without realizing he did.
Sonic was momentarily surprised to hear The Rookie speak a sentence as he barely said a word throughout the whole ordeal, if at all.
Sonic quickly composes himself and simply gives his signature smirk
"Heh, I didn't expect you to say a complete sentence now, but if you don't mind me asking, who is it? Family, a friend?" Sonic asks him
Xavier didn't really feel like responding but after a few seconds he replies
"I don't mind, she's more than a friend... She's family to me, more so my significant other. I know she can protect herself and others but regardless..."
"You still worry for her, right? It's all good buddy, I completely understand." Sonic says to Xavier in an understanding voice
Sonic taps a fist on Xavier's shoulder and says to him
"You're gonna keep moving forward? No matter what, yeah?"
Xavier looks to him and nods resolutely
"Heh, you and I aren't so different."
Sonic turns to face him
"I hope you find your girl safe and sound... See ya later, buddy!" And they both fist bump each other
Sonic then turns the other way and begins running. He turns back while running and gives a thumbs up to Xavier who was waving goodbye to him
