So Near Yet So Far

Blythe's Pov

6:00 am

~Criiing, criiing, criiing~

The alarm clock started to ring loudly, but Blythe was still sleeping peacefully.

~Criiing, criiing, criiing~

"God damnit that alarm clock, can you please stop that", Alaia said while covering her ears with a blanket.

Alaia is her roommate a. k. a. best friend. They have known each other since college, and now they are colleagues and live in the same place at the same time. Compared with Blythe, Alaia is a loud person, always moody, but still a caring good friend.

"Aghs, I really hate morning", I said while getting up in my bed and reaching the alarm clock.

My eyes is half close since I just woke up but still manage to see what time is it. And to my shock~

6:30 am

"Oh God, Alaia it's already 6:30 am. Get up, we're going to be late!", I shouted. And the disaster happens.

It's their first day at work as an editor/ script writer at Bulletproof Editorial Services. And yes, they are both late.

The call time for today's orientation is at 8:00 am. But since their dorm was 30 minutes travel from their office.

It's already 8:15 am and they just arrive in front of the building with a messy hair and they both look amaze on how huge the building was.

"Wooow", I and Alaia said in chorus. Then we look at each other run inside the building and find the nearest elevator and when they found one, they run as fast as they could because it was about to close. Luckily one of the persons inside the elevator notice them, so he immediately stop the closing door so they can hop in.

"Wooo, that was close", Alaia said while catching her breath.

"Haha, yeah. I guess our first day was really tiring", I said. And we both laugh like an idiots who thought that we are the only one inside the elevator.

When the doors open, they both rush to find the hall for the first day orientation but since the building was huge they both lost in just few minutes.

Remember the elevator guy. His name was Joshua, a 27 years old man and a Visual Production Specialist in Bulletproof Editorial Services and 5 years in the service. He already recognized this two girls in front of the building because of their weird reactions and in the first glance, he knew that this two is a newbie that's why he just ignore them. But base on what he witnesses inside the elevator was a bit funny and that was one of the reasons to catch her attention and it becomes look funnier when they both  looks like they don't know where to go. So that he decided to approach them both.

"Excuse me", Joshua said.

Blythe and Alaia was to Stan to speak. They just showing their real reacting since a goddess man approach and speak to them. Joshua notice it, so he just continue even the the two of them look so funny.

"I just wondering if you two needs some help since I think you both are looking for something or what, you can ask me since I was working here", he added.

Blythe compose herself and said. "Ahm, we are looking which hall is for orientation for new editors, it's our first day and we are both late and yet we don't know where to go and finally someone approach us and thank you for your kindness".

" It's my pleasure, actually I'm going to the same place, you both can come with me if it's okay with you", Joshua said.

" Haha of course it's okay with us", Alaia said.

" Then great!, Let's go", He added.

Joshua started to walk in an opposite direction and they just follow him.

While walking~

" Isn't it to obvious", Alaia whisper to her.

" Obvious what?" I replied.

" I think his interested to me", she said.

" Interested to what?!, To you? Haha, Lai (her nickname) stop imagining things okay. His just helping us", I replied.

" Is he? I don't think so", she said.

" Then don't think weird things that obviously will not happen", I honestly replied.

" Yah! Why are so harsh to me, your hurting my feelings", her emotionally replied.

" Haha, remember out goal?", I said.

" Ahm, no matter what happen, focus on our goals", she said with sad face.

" Right, it's our first day but you already look distracted", I said.

" I'm not", she said.

" Yes you are", I said.

" I'm just joking, you are so serious as always", she added.

" I'm just reminding you", I said.

" Yah, yah, thank for the reminder", she sarcastically said.

Blythe can't help it but just laugh when she see her friends reaction.

After a minute of walk, they finally reach the hall.

" We're here", Joshua said.

" Oh, yeah thank you again", I said.

" No worries, so I guess I leave you two here and I guess the event is about to start", Joshua said.

" Yeah, it's okay, we can find our own seats", I said.

" Then great, see you around", He added.

" Yeah, see you around", I replied.

When the guy left, they immediately find their own seats.

The event isn't starting yet and they are both thankful to that.

Alaia notice that Blythe looks nervous, so she approach her and make her comfortable even though she was feel nervous too.

" Nervous?", Alaia ask.

"A little bit", I said.

" Don't be, let's just have fun", she said.

" Yeah, I was trying", I said.

"Just relax, okay", she said.

"Hmm", I added.

After a minute of silence, the stage become so bright and that was a signal that the event was going to start any minute.
