----------
Alex had only been inside the Hamsworth High Auditorium twice, and every single time he sees the inside again, the structure and the size of the place just throws him into a loop; it's mightily impressive. From the outside, it looks almost too small to be called an auditorium, but once you step inside, it's simply breathtaking. Alex felt very proud to go to a campus with such a grand building, even though he rarely steps inside.
The first time he stepped inside the auditorium was during Freshman orientation about three years ago, when he and his parents went to the high school campus for the first time together to get Alex registered for school and to get him arrangements for the football team tryouts. When he first saw how large and spectacular the inside was, he was quite intrigued, and honestly, he was also surprised. He was not expecting such a nice building to be on this campus. The campus was nice, make no mistake, but the auditorium he thought outclassed all other buildings on the Hamsworth High campus.
Alex and his parents made it to the campus's very big parking lot around 6:45 PM and had no trouble finding a parking spot. Once Alex's dad, Phil parked, they all began to unfold themselves from the car.
"Alrighty! You guys ready for the show tonight?" Phil asked enthusiastically as he shut the driver's door, "your mom and I always look forward to this show Alex, it's amazing."
"I know Dad," Alex says with a slight smile and a nod, "you guys have gone to this show for four years in a row now, and for the past two, you've been trying to get me to come with you guys," Alex finishes as he closes his door.
"Well, you won't regret coming with us Alex," Evelyn says from the other side of the car as she shuts her door, "I think you'll really enjoy tonight's performances. Some of your peers that are in the music department are VERY talented."
"I get it, Mom," Alex says slightly exasperated, walking over to her as he puts on his football jacket, "I've seen the band perform before during every home football game throughout my high school career."
"Well good," Evelyn says with a grin as she flings her small handbag around her shoulder, "then you should enjoy tonight. You got the tickets, Phil?
"Right here!" Phil says, raising the tickets above his head with his left hand.
As Alex and his parents make their way to the entrance of the auditorium, Alex was hoping that his mom and dad wouldn't try to embarrass him tonight in front of anybody, especially since he didn't know if any of his buddies would be here tonight, though it was unlikely that they would. But also, Alex secretly wished that he had learned how to play a musical instrument during his childhood. It takes talent and coordination to play a musical instrument, especially piano. He really wishes that he had taken up piano when he had the opportunity, but he didn't unfortunately.
The Hamsworth High Music Department, Alex found this out recently from his parents after inquiring a little, runs on very little funding from the district, and get's it's main source of profit from donations given by the parents whose student's are part of the program throughout the year. Alex also notices that every single football game, there is a donation booth for the HHMD, since many people attend his football games, the music director Dr. Anton Lugisky takes advantage of the opportunity, since you can never have too many donations.
But during every show that is hosted by the HHMD, the HHMD also gains a considerable amount of money by selling tickets to these performances that they work very hard on, which by the way, the performances are not just only for parents to come see, but they are advertised to the entire public. The program also doesn't just include the Band and the Orchestra groups, the HHMD is also home to the prestigious choir programs at Hamsworth High as well. There are three different classes for choir: opera, chorale, and show choir.
