"Who said I was gonna play with her?"

Gryffindor dorms

"Tomorrow potions with the Slytherins, how lucky."
Pointed out Scarlett sarcastically, throwing her schedule on the bed.
"What's it with the Slytherins?" Asked Y/n.
"Oh, nothing. They just hate our guts and everyone who tries to talk to them. Six years I've been in this school, and I still haven't met a nice, down-to-earth Slytherin."

Their door then opened silently and Viola creeped in and threw herself on Y/n's bed.

"Are you okay, Viola?"
"Oh, you girls' beds are more comfortable than ours, no wonder you're Dumbledore's favourites." She declared sitting up.

"How did you manage to get in?"
"Easy peasy, Scarlett. I just waited until a first year kid had to come in and then I sneaked in after him." She shrugged.

"Viola, could you please hand me that pillow?"
"Here."
"Thanks:"

Hitting her with her pillow Y/n growled:
"Don't take advantage of oblivious children."
"That hurt."
"Woah, that escalated quickly.."

They stayed up talking until two in the morning, but none of them could fall asleep, just the thought of the first day of school was keeping them from closing their weary eyes.

Y/n was starting to understand her aunt's words, she felt like the weight on her chest was being lifted and carried away from her, to a hidden spot where no one would have ever found it. A secret between her and the universe.

She was finally hopeful, she had been beyond repair for too long, like a broken mirror which not even her aunt with all the magic in the world had been able to reassemble.

Maybe Hogwarts was the right place to start afresh, to build herself a new life, make new friends and leave the past in the past, live to the fullest the present and not be concerned about the future.

"Y/n! It's the first day and we're late!"
Yelled Scarlett, sprinting off her bed.
"And that's where you're wrong, you are late. See, I'm already dressed up and had breakfast." Y/n popped out of their bathroom with a toothbrush in her hand.

"And yet you didn't wake me up?" Scarlett was digging up the entire room just to find her uniform.
"Do you think I didn't try? I even called Viola."

"Where do you think you're going?"
"Huh, to class?"
"Yeah, no, you're waiting for me."

"No way, you know how to get to class, you'll live. I'm the new student, so I'm not going to be late. See you!"
