J Michael Tatum: Always

My body skook and trembled as more tears rolled down my face. No one was returning my texts or calls. No one was with me. No one wnated to be with me. Everyone had left me. They knew had moments like this but I never imagined anyone would completely leave me. Some said they couldn't take my "emotional breakdowns" anymore. Some said I was starting to become clingy. Whatever the reason was, I was alone.

Around 9 o'clock, I heard a knock at my door. I forced myself out of bed and walked downstairs. I opened the door to find Tatum standing there. I let him in and I noticed he had his hands behind his back. He gave me a small but sweet smile.

"I brought you stuff." He said softly, removing his hands from behind his back to reveal a Disney movie and a bag of my favorite snacks. "I thought these might help a little."

I looked up him then trew myself into his chest and wrapped my arms around his waist. I heard him set the stuff down and I felt him wrap his arms around me. I could feel my tears staining his shirt.

I heard Tatum grunt and I realized how tightly I had been holding onto him. "I thought me being here would cheer you up a bit, but I think I mad you more upset."

"Every-everyone left me." I choked out. "I thought y-you would too."

My words were followed by silence but then I heard Tatum sigh and suddenly I was lifted off the ground. He walked over to the couch and gently set me down then sat down beside me. I felt him wrap his arms arpund me again and he gently pulled me closer to him. I leaned into him, burying my face in his chest.

"You know I'll always be here, right?" Tatum's voice was gentle. "I'm not going anywhere."

I wiped my eyes and looked up at him. "You promise?"

Tatum leaned down and placed a kiss on my forehead then gave me a loving smile. "I promise. You're stuck with me."

I smiled and laughed a bit them snuggled deeper into his chest while he gently stroked mu back. "Can we watch the movie you brought?"

Tatum nodded and grabbed the bags. We both got comfortable and the rest of the night was spent with movies, snacks, and cuddling. At this point, I didn't care anymore that everyone else had left.
The one who mattered the most stayed.
