Author's Note:

I've made it further through the show! I have now seen all of season 3 and am working on season 4 - so yay! I know more about the volleyball idiots and am available to write stories about more ships. Let me know if you have any ideas.

Also, I'm sorry for yet another disappearance! I can't promise that I will be better about posting more consistently, but I will definitely try my best.

Blowing you kisses,

"Kuro"

Kuroo Testuro was shaken from his straying thoughts by a relatively quiet, emotionless, yet somehow effectively jarring, call from the boy in front of him.

"An apple slice please." The brunette with blond tips let out an impatient sigh. "I thought you were gonna grab a couple apple slices for me." Though he was still staring at the device in his hand, the smaller boy held his other hand out expectantly, waiting for an apple slice to be placed on his palm.

Shaking himself, Kuroo finished his task, reaching the last couple inches until he was able to grab some of the apple slices from the bowl to his right. He gently placed them in his companion's hand, intentionally putting them on his deft fingers so that the gamer would easily be able to put them in his mouth while his other hand was occupied.

Without another thought, the boy kept playing the game on his yellow GameBoy Color, eating the apple slices that were now in his hand.

Kuroo watched the apple slices as they were slowly brought to the mouth of Kozume Kenma, who was still focused on his game. But abruptly the black-haired boy turned away, looking at the copse of trees to his left.

It really was beautiful here, with the aged, cracking tree trunks leading to branches that were gently entwined around each other and reaching towards the clear blue sky. Growing at the base of the ancient trees were clusters of beautiful wild flowers that Kuroo knew he would never be able to name. Yet all the colors came together to make a beautiful picture and in the forefront of nature's backdrop was a row of sunflowers in full bloom, soaking up the sunlight and filling Kuroo with a brightness and eagerness that he found difficult to describe. This was why he had brought Kenma here - so that they could enjoy the beautiful scenery - but he should have known that the other boy would be more focused on his games.

He also should have known that he wouldn't be able to control himself when it came to staring at the boy with whom he had been attached at the hip since childhood. They were supposed to be best friends, but every time that they had a quiet moment, which was often, given Kenma's need for solitude which he allowed Kuroo to join in on, Kuroo found himself lost in one daydream after another.

The daydream that he had been lost in just moments ago, when Kenma had asked for some apple slices, had been a doozy. He had been doing so well that day too. He had finally convinced Kenma to come with him on a picnic in the park, though he gave in and let the setter bring his phone and his GameBoy. Kuroo had been able to keep from staring too obsessively at the other boy and kept his cool, until that moment.
