I was sitting on the ground. The only person I could trust was gone. She moved 600 miles away. This sucks.
To top things off my boyfriend of three years, Luke, texts me
Hey so w/ ur broken ft and evrything im geting bad attention sry im breaking up w/ u by!
Great. The last person who gave me any hope in life is gone. When this happens the only thing you can do is wallow.
To wallow you have to lock yourself in a room turn on a sad movie and eat a pint of Ben and Jerry's ice cream. It sounds pathetic, and it is, but trust me it helps.
It was time to change.
I didn't have much money but I walked to the mall to get a new wardrobe anyway. I walk to forever21 and get a bunch of short shorts and tank tops and shirts that show my stomach. It felt a little weird, but weird isn't always bad. Right?
The next day I went to the local coffee shop (that I knew Luke went to) in my new clothes. My eyes had a thick liner around them and my lipstick was bright red. I was there looking casual (or at least trying to) when Luke walks in.
He looks at me questioningly. "Jen?" He asks looking disgusted. "What did you do?"
"You threw me out of your life like a sack of rotten potatoes." I say with as much steel in my voice as possible. "What I do is none of your business anymore. So stay out of my way."
