Someone requested the New Year's date, so here it is! I hope you enjoy :)

Trent's POV

I didn't expect to be this nervous – it was just an evening with a girl...a girl I happened to like. A lot. Maybe I should've expected to be nervous. Especially given that I was nervous before the game on Boxing Day because she was there, and I'm never usually nervous before a game.

I threw open my wardrobe, unsure what to wear because I was unsure what she would be wearing. If I dressed smartly and she dressed casually I'd look too keen, but if I dressed casually and she dressed smartly I'd look like I don't care.

I've honestly never overthought so much in all my life.

I toyed with the idea of giving Hendo or Robbo a ring to give me a hand, but I decided I'd spare myself the teasing and just pick an outfit myself like most adults.

I decided to go for something that could be smart or casual depending on what (Y/N) wore; a pair of grey jeans with a white t-shirt. I sprayed some aftershave on my neck, not too much because I don't want to suffocate (Y/N), but just enough that if she got close to me she'd get a whiff.

I was running a comb through my hair when there was a knock on my bedroom door.

"Yeah?" I called out.

"What the fuck is that smell?" My brother Tyler wrinkled his nose as he opened the door.

"You mean my aftershave?" I asked.

"Yeah, that'll be it – why are you wearing so much?" He questioned.

"I'm not...am I?" I was paranoid now – thanks Ty.

"What are you wearing it for anyway?" Tyler asked, wiggling his brows.

"You know (Y/N)'s coming round." I mumbled.

"Yeah, I do, I just wanted to hear you say it again." Ty smirked. "Trent's got a date, Trent's got a date!" He sung.

"Oi, pack it in! Aren't you supposed to be heading out with Marc now?"

"Trying to get rid of us are we? Yeah, we're off now. I just came to say goodbye. And have fun on your date...not too much fun though." Ty said.

"Cut the crap." I warned.

"See ya later!" Ty said cheerily, shutting my door on his way out.

I heard the front door close as Tyler and Marcel left the house for the night. Luckily my mum had already left for a friend's house, meaning I was now home alone and could properly start preparing for this date. (Y/N) would be here in ten minutes.

The house was already tidy, all that was left to do was get out a few blankets, puff up the pillows and switch the oven on so that it would be heated up by the time (Y/N) arrived.

Apart from the fact that she was already knocking on the door. At least, I assume that's her...I'm not expecting anybody else.

"Shit!" I cursed under my breath, making my way to the front door and taking a deep breath.

As soon as I opened the door, my nerves vanished. (Y/N) always makes me feel so at ease, and she looked beautiful tonight, wearing a flowy black dress with little flowers on as her hair fell over her shoulders.

"Hi." I smiled. "You um...you look pretty." I stuttered.

"Thanks." (Y/N) blushed. "You look great too."

"Thanks." It was my turn to blush, stepping aside to let (Y/N) into the house. I took her jacket and hung it up before leading her through to the living room.
