[1] Welcome To Trash House: i

⊰⊱ a/n: this is a doozy of a chapter, and a very slow one, too. I'm not sure if all of my chapters will resemble this, but I did follow along the episode for the most of this. please let me know what you think!

don't worry if you don't want to read it all, I added a TLDR at the end for all those too bored! (although it's not too descriptive)

"Yo! We're coming at you live from Camp Wawanakwa, somewhere in Muskoka, Ontario," Chris McLean, a man in his early twenties, excitedly spoke to the camera. "I'm your host, Chris McLean. Dropping season one of the hottest new reality show on television, right now!"

The camera cut to show the man walking across a rickety dock, "Here's the deal: twenty-three campers have signed up to spend eight weeks right here at this crummy old summer camp. They'll compete in challenges against each other, then have to face the judgment of their fellow campers.

"Every three days, one team will either win a reward, or watch one of their team member's walk down the dock of shame. Take a ride on the loser boat and leave Total Drama Island, for good."

Chris appeared in front of the stereotypical campfire pit, "Their fate will be decided here, at the dramatic campfire ceremonies where each week, all but one camper will receive a marshmallow."

He snacks on a marshmallow, "In the end, only one will be left standing and will be rewarded with cheesy tabloid fame and a small fortune which let's face it, they'll probably blow in a week. To survive, they'll have to battle—black flies—grizzly bears—disgusting camp food—and each other.

"Every moment will be caught on one of the hundreds of cameras situated all over the camp. Who will crumble under the pressure? Find out here right now on...

"Total.

"Drama.

"Island!"

As soon as the man behind the camera signaled, Chris let out a sigh. After three tries, he's finally finished with the introduction for the viewers. As much as he loves to be on the camera, he does enjoy his time to himself, thank you very much.

Walking away, an intern runs up to the man with a drink safely clutched in their hand which Chris grabs without a 'thank you' and speeds away to the camera tent. He'd thank the intern later, probably.

It was nice being on this island. No matter what he just said in his monologue for the viewers, it felt nice to finally be out of those stuffy rooms where people shove microphones in his face, desperately asking questions—not because they like him, but because he brings money.

The fresh, warm air of Canada felt nice compared to what he's had to go through the past few weeks. The producers were on his ass about the whole project, demanding this and that even though this is his project and idea. Show-biz is a pathetic business.

Chris huffs as he lands in one of those star seats, pulling up his laptop to go over the contestants one last time. He had to make sure he knew all of their names before this hellhole began. And besides, he wanted to know who he was going to torture for the next eight weeks or so.
