I am standing in a white room. I look around and realize its a hospital. I look down and thank god I am not hurt. To my left and I see a woman with the same blonde hair I used to have. She is holding a baby. The women has the same olive skin as I do. She has blue eyes, probably the only feature we don't have alike besides for her face. Thats when I look to the left of her to see a man with the same cheekbones as I do which are very defined. He also has the same big brown eyes as I do. Thats when it hits me, those might be my parents.
I am an orphan and I have never met me family. I am 15 and I still don't have one memory of them. They abandoned me and I have no clue why, but my whole life I have wanted to meet them. I try reasoning with myself all the time of why they abandoned me. Who knows, they could have been in tough financial times.
I approach them with the biggest smile on my face. I am about to reach them and since the man's back was to me I tap on his shoulder.
When I get close to him, that's when everything starts to spin. Now I am standing in a kitchen. I look up to see the two people who I saw before right in front of me. They are smiling a welcome smiling and I smile back, I will finally meet my parents. When I go up to hug her, then the world starts to spin spin again.
"Oh" I say as I fall out of bed. "Oh My God Olivia are you okay" my roommate Mara says "I tried to wake you up earlier. It looked like you were having a nightmare again." I groan to cut her rambling off and roll my eyes "I'll be fine, I just have a bad headache" I look over at my clock and see that it's 5:30 "Mara go back to bed" She looks worried for a few seconds then reluctantly climbs back in bed.
That's typical of Mara, she's so overprotective. Of course most of my friends are, which in my opinion is a blessing. I look over and see Mara already snoring her head off which would usually make me laugh, but that nightmare. I always have the same nightmare. Of me meeting my parents and then something bad happens. They dropped me off at this school that my friends Mara, Hamish, Noah and I all call Hell_Hole_High.
The only reason we are here is because nobody wanted us. You see we aren't like the other kids we're outcasts. We are a different type of human. We are humans infused with magic. When a child turns 4 they might start showing signs of magic. The parents have 2 choices; do a surgery that may kill the child but will rid them of magic or send them here.
Hell Hole High is supposed to be like rehab, but they're teaching us how to control our magic and use it properly. I take out my file which I stole from the school and I look at it. I read the one story that they have on me. It reads:
Olivia first started showing signs of magic at an early age. She was 2 1/2 when her parents first started noticing it. She was sitting down in the kitchen and wanted a cookie. She said "I WANT COOKIE" and they refused to give it to her. They then saw her whispering under her breath as she stared at the jar. The jar burst open and the cookies came rolling towards her.
All I can think is wow I was fat even as a baby. Ok maybe I am not fat fat but I feel like I am. Anyway I decide to get ready and I jump into a shower. It was then I realized I had been crying this whole time. I take a quick shower because if I take one thats too long I start feeling insecure. I put on a white crop top and high waisted shorts. We don't have a dress code at my school or any other rules that are similar.
I put my mint green hair into a fishtail braid and put on natural looking makeup. I'm still early so I just sit on my bed and think about how messed up my life is. In this school there is a boys and a girls wing and then there are all the classrooms. I just sit there close my eyes and pretend I am someone else who is somewhere else.
