if this were a movie

if this were a movie
I'd keep replaying the moment we first met
pausing the second our eyes collide
slowing the time when our hearts beat faster

if this were a movie
I'd cut the scene our hearts broke
trimming the story line
when we're no longer together
and the incident that left us hanging and stranded

if this were a movie
I'd keep rewinding the promises we've made
repeating them over and again
to ensure neither you nor I forgot
that our hearts once beat in the same rhythm

but if this were a movie
I am so sure you'd be here by now.
