Deep

I stumble in the water gradually getting further out the turquoise sea to reach Camilo who was peacefully floating on his back quietly singing.
He didn't seem like his usual fault, I'd only left him for a minute but he seemed so sad. I pass him his floatie and lay on it. "You okay?" I say with a concerned look on my face. He looks over to me then up towards the sky that's slowly changing to a lilac colour. "I've just had a lot on my mind latley" he says putting on a fake smile. I could already tell what had been on his mind since the Madrigals have been falling apart. "You want to talk about it? It might help." I answer.  *he nods* "I guess, I feel a little useless and I know I have a gift but I still don't feel. Good enough" Camilo says as he holds back tears although he hadn't noticed his hand slowly crawled towards mine and firmly gripped it.
       "Oh I'm sorry y/n" he nervously says. I smile at him understandably but I Don't make him let go of my hand, and he doesn't.  "When I got my gift, Abuela didn't react like Dolores's gift." He pauses "You know, you were the only person that was happy for me that day" Camilo says quietly.
I couldn't say anything but I jumped onto his floatie and hugged him tight, I have never seen Camilo like this before. He was always happy, always the happy one in the family.
"I love you" he whispers making sure I can't hear him, I didn't .
But I still whisper the same thing back.
