7:08 PMWhen I enter through the front door, I'm automatically surprised at the noise that filled the house. It was loud, and there were so many middle-aged people. There was no music, just people in conversation.
Linda must know a lot of people.
My heart was still beating so fast from just ending that conversation with Harry. It was kind of awkward, and he wasn't how I thought he was going to be. He obviously seemed nice, but that conversation just didn't go how I thought.
He asked for my name.
Was he like... interested? I doubt it. Especially after I told him who I was. Little sister's best friend. It needed to be done though, I'm sure when I meet up with Talia in this party he would have found out anyway.
Where to find Talia...
I scanned the doorway, and turned right down the hall. Passing through people in conversation, I search for the people my age. I walked into the living room, which was completely empty.
Except for a lonely bottle of jack on the coffee table.
I walk out into the next hallway. Passing through more people, I spot Linda talking to a younger guy that looked my age.
He was cute, with blonde hair and the bluest eyes that I could spot from across the hall. The feature that stood out the most was his smile. It was huge, and he laughed at everything Linda was saying. I've never seen him before, so I'm guessing maybe one of Harry's friends?
I decided to join the conversation in hope they could help me find Talia. I walk up, lightly touching Linda's arm so she could face me.
"Hi Linda! Happy birthday!" I grinned.
She turned towards me, automatically smiling and reaching her arms up to hug me. I hand her the wine bottle I brought, and embrace her in the hug.
"Oh Scarlett! Thank you darling," she smiled, "You look absolutely beautiful!"
I feel my cheeks get hot. I hate compliments. I never know how to react or say.
"Thank you!" I say, releasing the hug that we were in.
Linda faces back and puts out her arm to introduce me to the young man.
"This is Niall, Harry's friend that he brought with him!" she yells, even though she's standing right next to me.
The smell of alcohol filled the air from her breath, and she's most definitely had one too many. Niall smiles at me, reaching his hand out to shake mine.
"So nice to meet you." he asserted, while shaking my hand.
"Niall, this is Talia's best friend from grade school!" Linda shouted at a loud tone, once again.
I nodded, facing Niall. "So you must be Scarlett!" Niall grins.
"Yes, I'm Scarlett," I say, smiling back at Niall.
"I was wondering if y'all have seen Talia? I haven't run into her yet." I ask.
A woman passes Linda, in which Linda grabs her arm.
"Lauren!" she yells. They immediately start conversation and head down the hall.
I laugh, facing Niall. She was obviously drunk. He locks eyes with mine, and chuckles.
"I was with her earlier!" Niall assured, "Let's go find them."
Them.
I nod. "Another friend of Harry's?" I ask, starting to walk along with Niall.
