I sat at the front desk watching the clock. 5 more minutes till my break I thought. As long as nobody walk through that door in the next five minutes I can leave... for 30 minutes at least.
(A/N Italicized text is thinking/reading. "speaking is in quotations" and bold is authors note)
4 minutes. It's been pretty slow today. 3 minutes. Has that plant always been there? 2 minutes. "Mallory!" Bob yells. Dammit, "yeah bob?" I yell back. "we have someone picking up their car in a few minutes. wait until after they get their car to go on break". Great. "of course" I smile back.
30. minutes. later.
Where the hell is this guy? Finally a guy walks in the door. Like I mentioned I work in downtown LA. I have seen some nice looking guys, But this man is FINE. He comes up to the desk.
"Last name?" I look up annoyed. "Garfield" he responds. I chuckle a little bit. "Like the cat?" I asked. "Ah I've never heard that before" he laughs and rolls his eyes. I hand him his keys and say "well Mr. Garfield, please try to be on time next time". He responds "Please, call me Andrew, and who am I to keep a lovely lady waiting? How about I make it up to you by taking you to by taking you to a dance tomorrow evening?"
Andrew Garfield? where have I heard that name before? I laugh a bit. "sorry sir I have plans tomorrow but thanks anyway. Have a nice day". He nods and smiles and walk out.
After I see him drive away I grab my stuff and head out for lunch.
*time skip to after work*
I walk in and see a dress on the couch. I decide to take a look and see something actually nice for once.
(Thats the dress for reference but please change it if you'd like ^^^^)
There's a note on it that reads, I hope you like the dress, please look nice tomorrow -dad.
I roll my eyes. Tomorrow is gonna be miserable. I took a shower and watched the news before bed. When I finally did go to bed the only thing in my mind was how that hot guy asked me to a dance. Thats a confidence booster. I slowly drift off to sleep hoping tomorrow night won't be overly boring.
Sorry these are short chapters. As the plot get more intense the chapters will get longer.
