KAY

This whole misadventure started when I woke up.

I know, waking up, a boring thing that happens to people usually everyday unless they are reckless, a vigilante, or a criminal. In my case I'm all three, but we haven't gotten to that point in the story yet.

"Wake up Lovebirds, it's the end of the line!" my eyes slowly blinked open as my head bounced off the window.

"ugh, wha-?" I asked,  I tried to rub my eyes but something was in my hand. Or more accurately, another hand was in my hand. "UGH! What?!"

A guy with fluffy black hair with a white streak in it was leaning against my shoulder. his sweaty palm in mine. The man was dressed in a brown leather jacket, a black shirt under that, and black jeans. even under the jacket I could tell that his shoulders were muscular and strong.  Suddenly his eyes flew open, a mixture of poorly concealed panic, a deep teal green, and bloodshot red.

"What the-where am I?!" he asked me, slight panic rising in his voice.

"who are you?" I demanded, not buying his oh-no-I-don't-know-where-I-am-or-how-I-got-here act, "where are we?"

"who are you?"

"I asked you first." he glared at me and I glared back, an immature staring contest beginning.

"Fine," he muttered, tears from not blinking formed under his eyelids, "I'm Jason."

"Kay."

"Okay, do you know where we are?" I stayed silent, my eyes narrowed. "I'll take it you can't remember either?"

I nodded and looked away as footsteps came closer to us. It was the city bus driver, probably coming to kick us off the bus. the man was middle aged, pale and probably balding under his baseball cap with a bat on it.

"alright I know you two heard me-" suddenly the man trailed off, his face paling fear lighting up his wide eyes. "oh, I'm so-I'm so sorry! I didn't realize it was you! Please-please stay as long as you want! Please don't hurt me!" the last part came out as a whimper, barely audible.

"Um, it's fine. we were just on our way anyway."

I shoved the Jason with my shoulder sun til he got out of the seat so I could follow. after a few seconds though I had to dig my long pastel pink fingernail into his pale skin to get him to let go of my hand. he seemed surprised when he even realized he was holding it. but when he let go of my hand a piece of paper fluttered out from in between our palms. Jason snatched the paper out of the air before I could see it and continued walking towards the front of the bus.

something tugged at my chest when I saw the paper. like the feeling you get when you are very close to remembering something but can't quite. I didn't know it then, but I would feel like that quite a lot in the next week and a half or danger.
