Barnacles x Reader//😖Sensitivity😖

🌸This story idea was requested by @B/0○dmoonTheHybrid, thanks Moon!🌸 (P.S I had to censor the word b/0○d since people might get triggered, sorry for that and sorry it took over 2 months, I've been REALLY unmotivated!)

Story:

This is a secret you've been trying to keep from as many people as you can, especially from your crew. But some secrets must be revealed.

Y/N POV:

Today was a normal day, helping around in the Octopod, escorting Peso to make sure he's safe while treating patients at the Reef, helping Tweak out with fixing some of the Gups, and asking Professor if I can borrow some books to read when I'm bored. Everything was going well today. It soon became night and the crew and I decided to play a game in the Game-Pod.

"What about Uno?"

"No Kwazii. The last time we played Uno, you kept screaming in rage everytime you got extra cards or the cards were swapped!" Tweak snickered, remembering every single time he had to grab more cards and swap,

"Not me fault ye kept getting 7, +2, and +4 cards, Tweak!"

"Well what about Monopoly?"

"Dr Shellington, I believe the last time we played Monopoly, it wasn't just Kwazii who was raging..." Peso reminds him, glancing at Tweak,

"Hey! Not my fault that some how ya guys took most of the properties!" (P.S I've never played Monopoly in a long time so correct me on anything-)

"Hm... does anyone got any other suggestions?" The Captain asks, everyone thinks for a moment,

"Hm, how about Truth or Dare?" Peso replies, everyone else and I agree.

We all sit around in a circle, I sit on one of the beanbags, the Captain on my left and Tunip on my right, the crew and I start asking eachother questions, some embarrassing questions, some shocking dares and answers, it was going great until...

"Y/N, Truth or Dare?" Kwazii asks,

"Dare!"

"Let one of us pat your head!"

Peso immediately spits out the hot cocoa he was drinking and glances over to Kwazii,

"Did I say somethin' wrong?" Kwazii asks, confused. Peso, and the Vegimals were the only ones aware,

"U-Um... so who wants to do it?" I ask, breaking the silence, it took a few seconds until someone spoke up,

"May I?" The Captain spoke up, slightly raising his paw up,

"S-Sure." I reply, taking off my hat and holding in my lap, he places his paw ontop of my head and starts to pet me.

After a few seconds, I grab his paw before it gets worse,

"A-Alright! That's enough!" I exclaim, removing his paw from my head. After a few seconds, I yawn,

"I think I'm gonna head to sleep now, night guys." I say, I hop down the Octochute and head to my room.

3rd POV:

"So~~~ why was Y/N kinda hesitating at the dare?" Kwazii asks, the crew glance at eachother except for Peso and the Vegimals. It took a moment before Tunip decided to chirp out, the rest of the Vegimals quickly glance at Tunip. Peso doesn't speak or understand Vegimaliese, but he has a guess on what Tunip said. Tunip talks for a few seconds before immediately going quiet,

"Oh! Y/N seems to have... sensitive ears." Shellington translates to what Tunip said,

"Tunip!" Peso and the rest of the Vegimals exclaim,

"You weren't supposed to tell them!" Peso says in a concerned tone, Tunip sadly chirps,

"It's alright Tunip, you were just panicking on what to say." Shellington reassures Tunip,

"But why didn't Y/N tell us earlier?" Tweak asks,

"Well... they actually get embarrassed by it, the only reason the Vegimals and I found out about it is because the Vegimals started petting them and I thought they had a fever, and then they told me at the Medbay." Peso explains,

"So is that why their face looked a bit red when Captain was petting them?" Dashi replies, Peso nods.

After a few minutes, they agreed to head to their rooms and sleep for the day.

Barnacles POV:

It's been a few minutes since we agreed to head to bed, and I was reading a book before putting it away and head to the kitchen to get some water.

Once I arrived, I saw Y/N was also there with a glass of water, but they seem to be a bit upset.

"Y/N? Are you ok?" I ask, they were slightly startled before turning towards me,

"Oh! Hey captain... I just had a small nightmare." They replied, they turn back to their glass. I go grab a glass and filled it up with water, and decided to stand next to them.

Y/N POV:

Oh dear. I thought. The Captain was standing next to me and I can already feel my face heat up a bit, I shake off the feeling and try to focus on finishing my glass.

All of a sudden, I feel someone petting my ears. I try to stop my face from heating up, but no use. Why must my ears be sensitive?

"You don't have to hide it, Y/N. You don't have to be embarrassed about it!" He says in a soft tone. Embarrassed about wha-... oh.

"W-Which one told you?..." I ask, slightly startled,

"Oh, Tunip. He didn't mean to say it though, he was just panicking on what to say." He answered, at this point my face probably looks like a tomato.

It's been a few minutes, but now I became comfortable with him petting me. But.... I'm starting to feel a bit.... sleepy....

Barnacles POV:

I catch them before their head could hit the counter.

Fell asleep, huh?

I hold Y/N, grab both of our glasses and place them in the sink before carrying Y/N to their room.

The door opens and I place Y/N on their bed, pulling their blanket up on them. Y/N sleeping peacefully. I can feel my face slightly heat up.

Cute..-

I immediately s/@p myself, what in the world was I thinking!? I pet their head one more time before leaving the room, still shocked from what I just thought in my mind. I enter my room and lay in my bed, still thinking about what I just thought of before. After a few minutes, I start to slowly fall asleep...

The ending bit was rushed-

I also really hope this chapter was fluffy enough-

But I had fun writing this, suprisingly I didn't have trouble simping for this damn polar bear while writing this but I did have a bit of trouble with the ending bit. Also I can't tell if I should be suprised or not that this chapter is more than 1000 words-

Welp I think that's all I have to say!
