"Just die!"
"You mistake, no one wants you."
"You're just a burden! Why not make it easier for everyone and leave?!"
Those words resounded through Hana Okada's head while she limped in the rain down the street. Her legs were shaking, and she could feel the blood seeping from in between her fingers. She was clutching her side. The memory of her father throwing his beer bottle at her played on repeat. She could see her mother laughing behind him.
They'd called her worthless and told her to die. Was she really a mistake? Her wavy, mid back length white hair was plastered to the sides of her face. Rain was pelting her back, dripping into her eyes and blurring her vision. Her head was aching, and her vision was dimming around the edges.
Hana was unaware when her knees hit the pavement. Unaware of the car speeding towards her. Unaware of the voices calling to her from a distant place.
