Chapter 4 - First Full Moon

"Are you sure you can do this?" Derek asked me as we reached the room that my father was behind. I honestly wasn't sure I could handle it. "You seem to be pushing this onto yourself, you know that it can happen any day. It doesn't have to happen today" Derek said with his hand on the door nob.

"I have to do this. I can handle it. I told you knowing that there is a whole piece of my life missing is driving me crazy, okay? You need to understand that the longer I put this off the harder my brain is working to figure out exactly who I am." I said as he nodded and pushed the door open.

The room was very dim and I saw my dad sitting in the corner on a wheel chair. Once I saw his face I turned around and walked straight into Derek, I was freaking out.

"Hey, where are you going?" Derek said grabbing my shoulders and raising an eyebrow at me.

"I was wrong, I can't do this." I said as a tear fell from my eyes, I said lowering my head. I was so scared that I would do something wrong, or that I'd make him freak out or something because out of no where this teenage girl who claims to be his daughter comes. I don't want to cause him pain or make him over think things.

'Mia, you can do this. Come on. Stop over thinking" Derek said turning me around and pushed me on the seat in front of Peter.

"Hey Peter, I know this is totally random and I'm not sure that you even know what I am saying but." I said looking at his still burnt face, I don't think that I can tell him I'm his daughter when he doesn't know I exist. My father told me his mother took that knowledge away from him. "Your niece Laura, she was murdered. I know Derek has probably told you that, but I just moved here with my adoptive family. Peter..." I paused. "The Alpha killed my mother." I said as Derek grew confused, I looked over at him and he questioned me through gesture. "Derek said that he's help me find my father, because were not sure who he is. So for now, you and Derek are my only family." I spoke clearly, I was upset that I lied but I had a feeling that telling the truth would be worse.

We stayed with peter for about an hour and a half longer and then we left, dad said he didn't mind if I missed dinner but the visiting hours had ended. So Derek and I decided to have some cousin family bonding time over dinner.

"What would you like?" Derek asked as we climbed into his car, I wasn't very hungry but I have to admit that I wanted to get to know my family better.

"Uh... You choose" I said putting my seat belt on. I didn't really mind, I could eat anything.

"Chinese?" Derek asked as he started the car, I smiled. I loved Chinese food!

"Sure, sounds good" I said as he began to drive.

We drove to this nice little Chinese restaurant, it looked absolutely beautiful. I walked inside and there was authentic Chinese setting. I hadn't seen anything like it before. Beacon Hills was a very beautiful place. I mean beside the fact that it is filled with mystical creatures.

"How long has our family lived in Beacon Hills for?" I asked after we had taken our seats and ordered our food.

"Well, I can't say I know fully but my mom always told me that we have been protecting Beacon Hills for as long as she could remember" He explained with a look of happiness and pride.

"That's amazing, she sounded like a very wise woman." I started, I looked at him frown. He had spent the last 10 years without his mother, I was amazed.

"She was one of the greatest Alphas who ever lived" He said with a small smile... "I would only wish to be half the werewolf she was" Derek said sitting up straight and fixing his leather jacket.
