The next day at the senior center...
I walk into the senior center, and I am quite surprised. It seems as though the construction crew has made a lot of progress.
"How long have you been here for?" I ask Matthew.
"Not long." He answers. He looks as though he is in deep thought at the moment.
"Look, can I talk to you?" He asks suddenly.
He takes my hand and leads me to an empty storage closet.
"Um." I say because I can barely see anything. "Is this where you murder me?" I ask jokingly.
He then turns the light switch on.
"Look I just wanted to say sorry if I said anything weird the night of the party. I don't really remember exactly what happened but just know I was drunk." He says flustered. My heart sinks as I register his words, yeah he definitely did not actually mean what he said about me.
"Is that it?" I say bitterly. I have no room to be bitter but whatever. I just got my hopes up that he might actually like me but I guess I was wrong.
"Uh are you with Nathan?" He asks. I can't help my eyes from widening in shock. I'm more shocked that he cares enough to ask.
"What, no." I say shutting down that rumor right away. He just nods his head. I feel like he wants to tell me more but he isn't and it's stressing me out.
Before I can grab the doorknob to exit, his lips make contact with mine. He cups my face in his hands and deepens the kiss. My fingers are carding through his curly hair. My heart is racing and it feels like a whole zoo of butterflies just went off in my stomach. I wrap my arms around his neck. My heart feels as though it's racing out of my chest. When he pulls away, I wish he hadn't. He has the cutest smile plastered on his face right now, showing off his perfect teeth. I can't help the blush that is obviously visible on my cheeks right now.
"Aww you're blushing." Matthew says.
"Shut up." I reply with a giggle.
"No. Fucking. Way." Francis says once I tell her all about the kiss.
"I know." I reply and I can't help the grin that's on my face just thinking back to the kiss.
"Are you going to tell the others?" Francis asks.
"I haven't really thought about that. I think I'm going to wait and see what happens before I tell them anything." I don't want them to say anything because it's all new to me. And plus me and Matthew haven't talked since.....
