True Feelings

No One's POV

It was early in the morning for Barbara to be setting up a table outside near the Knights' castle. The view was nice as it faced the lake around them. She had a kettle of her chill brew on the table with two cups next to it, along with some muffins. Barbara was smiling as she felt the nice morning breeze on her face. She heard heavy footsteps behind her, so she turned around to become happier when she saw (Y/N), "Good morning (Y/N)." The young man smiled as well, "Good morning Barbara. Why did you want to meet so early?" "Well you said that you usually get up early, so I thought that we could have a nice sunrise conversation. The lake and sky is very beautiful at this time." (Y/N) looked out at the shimmering water as the sun was beginning to rise, which gave a faint purple and orange hue to the water.

(Y/N) took a seat, "It is beautiful." Barbara poured him some chill brew to pour some for herself. (Y/N) looked inside of the cup, "What is this?" "It's a special drink that I made. I call it Chill Brew. I don't know if you'll like it though. It's a little bitter." (Y/N) took a sip for his ears to stand up, "I like it." "Really?" (Y/N) nodded for Barbara enjoy the fact that (Y/N) liked something that she made. The two talked for a while just enjoying each other's company.

When the sun was nearly set (Y/N) let out a sigh "I'm going to miss this place." Barbara looked at him, "What do you mean?" "Beidou and I received news from the Traveler yesterday. She ran important an errand for Ninguang, so she made a deal. If we throw in what we've earned, Ninguang will pay for the rest. We will be leaving in two days."

Barbara looked saddened by the news, "Oh." (Y/N) took notice of Barbara's saddened look, "What's wrong?" "It's just that Monstadt has this small festival in a few days and I have performance to start it off. I really wanted you to see it. Oh and Beidou of course." (Y/N) thought for a while, "Well I could talk with Beidou. I can't guarantee that we will be able to attend though." The sun was now high up in the sky as people started to come out and start their day.

Two Days Later

Beidou had a small bag packed for the trip back to Liyue. Before she left though, she decided to pay a visit to the church. When she entered she quickly spotted Barbara, as she was praying. Beidou walked up to the short woman to clear her throat. Barbara was a little startled to look behind her, "Oh Beidou it's you." She stood up to see the bag for her face to become sad, "Oh, you and (Y/N) are going back to Liyue today." Beidou crossed her arms, "No, only I'm going. (Y/N) is going to leave in two days. He wanted to stay for your performance." This made Barbara smile for Beidou to smirk, "I don't know if you've caught on yet, but (Y/N) likes you a lot." Barbara's face became a little red, "Well we are good frie-" "I mean romantically." Barbara's entire face became as red as a tomato for Beidou to continue, "He's never felt this way about someone before. He's been around plenty of women, but for some reason he's gained a great interest in you. Sadly he doesn't know how to deal with these kind of emotions." This caught the young woman's attention as Beidou looked her in the eyes, "What I'm getting at is that if you feel the same way towards him I would suggest that you make a move before he leaves. If not then don't do anything. That's all I wanted to say." She turned around to wave, "See you around Barbara." She left for the short nun to be left on her own as she was flustered.

Beidou met (Y/N) on the bridge as they met in a hug. When they parted Beidou could see worry in (Y/N)'s eyes, "Be careful on your way back." Beidou lightly punched his shoulder, "I'll be fine. Just make sure you make it back safe. We'll be ready for departure when you return." Beidou began walking away as the two waved goodbye at each other. When Beidou was far away (Y/N) decided to head towards the Knights' castle to see if anybody needed help.

A few minutes later Barbara was at the Knights' castle outside of Jean's office. She opened the door to peak her head inside, "Big sister?" Jean brought her head up from her paperwork, "Barbara, what brings you here?" Barbara walked in closing the door behind her, "I need to ask you something." Jean patted a chair next to her signaling her sister to take a seat. Barbara sat down for her to avoid eye contact, "How do you confess to a guy?" Jean looked at her a little surprised, "You like someone? Who? Please don't be one from your fan club."

The two heard a knock at the door for Jean to say, "Come in." (Y/N) walked in with a stack of books to set them on Jean's desk, "Lisa said that you would need these for today." Jean smiled, "Thank you (Y/N)." The young man looked at Barbara to smile, "Hello Barbara." Barbara avoided eye contact as her face was a little red, "H -Hey (Y/N)." (Y/N) left for Barbara to let out a sigh to notice Jean looking at her with a smirk, "I didn't know that you were into men like that." "He's nice and is actually quite caring. That's why I like him." "Alright. Alright. Well I have an idea as to what you could do for your confession."
