When school was finally over he headed back to the foster home with Isabella and Lucas, he just wanted this day to end. He went to his room and just cursed everything for a few minutes before Toxin spoke, 'Are you done?'

"I could go on, not only do I have to deal with a bunch of heroes but now I also have to deal with people talking about my love life when I didn't even tell them nor do I want to."

Toxin was clearly a bit annoyed, 'It is annoying, the heroes are bad enough but now there's this, humans are annoying.'

"Most of them yes, at least some of them are decent, not many though."

'At least Robin is not that bad, now I am hungry.'

Danny laughed a little and got up before going downstairs and grabbing some food, he'd rather not have Toxin be hungry too. After he got some food he went back to his room, he needed to think of a plan for finding this murderer. Of course he would probably have to deal with the heroes too which he was not looking forward too.

Hours passed as he thought and he did his homework just so he wouldn't have to deal with annoying teachers the next day. By then it was time for dinner and he joined the others at the table while not saying a word. The others talked to each other but if Danny didn't have to talk he didn't, he didn't want to talk to anyone at the moment.

Isabella and Lucas knew better then to bother him right now and Mary and John seemed like they didn't know what to say. When Danny was done he started heading to his room when Mary stopped him and pulled him into the living room. Danny glared at her, "Don't touch us."

Mary looked like his words stung her but at this point Danny didn't care, he was sick and tired of people forcing themselves into his business. John walked in and spoke, "We know you're mad, but we just want to talk to you before you take off."

"Then hurry up, I've got enough shit to deal with tonight as it is."

Mary sighed, "I'm sorry that all of this is happening, and we aren't helping. This is all new, and we've never had anything like this happen, and you've been hurt so much already that we're worried about making it worse."

John spoke, "We've talked about what to do over and over, we tried to give you space, we tried to be involved, we tried acting like this was normal. But it's not, you're not, and you have a right to be angry after what you went through, but we don't want to you go out and possibly get hurt while still hating us."

Now that pissed Danny off more, "See that, right there, people assume shit about me all the time. I don't hate you, I am pissed, and I don't trust people, because the people that were supposed to protect me were the first people that hurt me. But I do not hate you, what pisses me off is that you try to act like parents, I don't want or need parents."

"What I need is people I trust, and I can't trust you when you're trying to be something I don't even want you to be."

John and Mary were silent, they hadn't expected him to be that honest and direct, though he's always been upfront and said what he meant they thought he'd just leave this time. Then Mary smiled, "You're a good kid, then if you don't want us as parents how about friends?"

Danny wasn't impressed, "You'd have to earn that, you can start by telling me what you really think about the situation with Toxin and I."

John spoke immediately, "It is absolutely terrifying, you fight criminals with an alien that lives in your body. You're only half human, you've been running off at night probably since you got here risking your life. You save people and we watched you get shot several times just for Toxin to heal you and for you to fight the people that shot you."
