Chapter 4:

"Jiang Cheng?"

He flinched when someone mentioned his name, it had been years since someone in Lotus Pier dared to call him by his given name.

He turned back and he saw Wei Wu Xian with his Yunmeng Jiang's uniform.

Bewildered.

The other man looked weird with the purple clothing yet suitable.

"Wei Wu Xian?" he called, shaking at the edge.

Wei Wu Xian smiled at him, a teasing one with one eyebrow raised, "yeah that's me, what's wrong with you? What's with my courtesy name? You call me like that when I'm in trouble."

His Shixiong was using a disciple's uniform, but still with his iconic red ribbon.

Wei Wuxian was babbling about him being a good boy all day long and he didn't deserve any scolding because he didn't explode anything in the training field for a whole week, not yet.

"What are you doing here?" the sect leader questioned. Wei Wu Xian stopped and looked at him as if he grew a second head.

"Are you in the middle of daydreaming?" his apprentice brother asked, patting his head and for a second Jiang Cheng's body trembled when the familiar scent of black tea hit him.

It was the scent he hadn't smelled for years, right?

It was something nobody could bring back to him, even Wei Wuxian.

No, wait, was it?

Also, Wei Wuxian patting his head?

No, the man stopped doing that after they passed their childhood.

"What day-dreaming Wei Wuxian?!" Jiang Cheng slapped the older man's hand aggressively, Wei Wuxian looked at him with shocked eyes.

The people on the dock looked at him as if he was the one being weird. Several of the people ended up giggling and he heard some of them called this their usual bickering.

Usual bickering?

As if the presence of Wei Wu Xian was something normal in here, "whoa, A-Cheng," Wei Wu Xian raised his hands to make him look defenseless.

Zidian gave a slight crackle, Wei Wuxian laughed awkwardly and moved from the side near Zidian.

"Why do you look so angry with me?"

Yes, why?

Of course, he would! Why the heck Wei Wuxian was here?!

Wasn't he supposed to be at-

At-

Where?

Jiang Cheng looked around, the Lotus Pier looked normal. The Lotus Pier he lived in, the one he built-

The one he built?

"What's wrong?" a stern voice behind them, Jiang Cheng stiffened.

No way.

".... A-Niang?"

"Madam Yu," Wei Wu Xian bowed to Yu Zi Yuan. Jiang Cheng's eyes widened and he felt his whole body shaking.

What the hell?

A-Niang?

A-Niang?!
