Chapter 7: Second Chance?
*
Jiang Cheng lost his memories related to both Wei Wu Xian and Lan Wang Ji.
It was like they were both completely cut off from his life.
He didn't spare them the same glance, they could hardly see Jiang Cheng in reality.
Almost the whole main disciples of Lotus Pier knew their history.
Most of them dislike the couple, some of them pity them, some of them cheered happily because it was what they deserved.
Their sect leader had suffered so much. It was a relief Jiang Cheng forgot.
The close servants didn't help either, they didn't want the couple to be close with Jiang Cheng.
Jiang Cheng suddenly looked more cheerful and smiled more.
Once Wei Wu Xian could meet him, it was too early and people in Yunmeng were still sleeping.
He went to the private docks, similar to an old place in the old Lotus Pier.
Wei Wu Xian could feel how Jiang Cheng desperately tried to create the same imitation.
He saw Jiang Cheng there, with his sleeping robes and one thin outer robe draping on his shoulders.
He didn't hesitate to approach.
Wei Wu Xian's heart broke when Jiang Cheng turned around, eyes cold and undisturbed, "How can I help you, Wei-Gongzi?"
It hurt.
Jiang Cheng treated him and Lan Wangji, like nothing but a stranger.
They were strangers, he was the one who said to forget the past.
It was so painful. So hurtful.
"But wasn't that what you did to my leader after Guanyin Temple?" the second in command said.
It hit Wei Wu Xian like a brick.
"Wasn't that what you, the perfect Hanguang Jun did when you found your love again?"
"You treated my leader like he was nothing but a replacement until you find your true love, and it's better to treat you like a stranger rather than a rag to be tossed out."
Lan Wangji and Wei Wu Xian had no place anymore.
None of the Yunmeng people would let them.
They grieved, mourning for the lost.
None of them noticed the eyes watching them, satisfied with his little revenge because of their slumped shoulders.

Jin Ling left after Jiang Cheng woke up.
His Jiu Jiu was the one who dragged him with his ear to the dock when the sect leader Jin refused to leave.
"It's been days since I woke up, I'm completely fine," Jiang Cheng said to the younger man who pouted.
The boat was ready to leave but Jin Ling still held the hem of Jiang Cheng's purple robe, just like when the man was still a little boy.
"But what if you faint again?" Jin Ling reasoned, eyes pleading but Jiang Cheng met his eyes with a deadpan glare.
"Which will never happen again," Jiang Cheng said with a determined voice.
Jin Ling already neglected his job as a sect leader for too long. He won't let it go any further, he won't let other old elders bad mouth his nephew more than this.
He would make Jin Ling leave and get his job done. Final decision.
"Ah," Jin Ling turned around when he finally lost to his Jiu Jiu, "about Senior Wei and Hanguang Jun-"
They had been addressing them as if they were strangers. Jin Ling felt bad, felt so bad for Wei Wu Xian.
It was as if they were struck by invisible lightning the day Jiang Cheng kicked them out from his chamber.
Jiang Cheng lost his memories, but only related to Wei Wu Xian and Lan Wang Ji.
Lan Sizhui suspected it to be the demon's doing.
Even though they were glad, Jiang Cheng was safe from the demon's clutch.
Jin Ling felt bad but he was also happy, at least two sources of his Jiu Jiu's pain were gone completely.
"They will certainly leave when I leave," Jin Ling said, "so please don't exhaust yourself, even when they still try to approach you ..."
The golden boy had pitted both of them and said Jiang Cheng, Wei Wu Xian, and Lan Wang Ji were his guests.
Jin Ling won't turn a blind eye to them since they also helped to save Jiang Cheng when he was in a comatose state.
It was amazing how after they mourn for the lost memories, it made them try to approach Jiang Cheng more.
Almost as if they were thick-faced or perhaps after almost losing Jiang Cheng. They finally realized how fucked up they were.
It was making Jin Ling upset, for them to realize after the whole fiasco. The fact that Jiang Cheng must be in danger first for them to finally know or admit his worth and their stupid feelings.
Jiang Cheng met Jin Ling's eyes, his gaze softened when the boat started to drift off from the dock.
It was rare to see his uncle in every day's robe, with no tension, and seemed so relaxed with hair tied with a loose ribbon.
Jiang Cheng scoffed, side lips lifting a little as he let out a fond chuckle.
"Don't worry," he said to Jin Ling. Loud enough for the younger man to hear. Zidian crackled, Jin Ling saw his uncle's eyes glint with something so mischievous.
Something he rarely, or maybe never seen before.
Excitement, fond, satisfied. Almost like a child who was able to do his tricks and got the candy he wanted.
Jiang Cheng smiled, happy and content, "I can take care of Shixiong and his husband well, better than anyone else, brat."
He didn't forget anything, to begin with.
It was a well-deserved punishment for the stupid alphas.

The boy, the demon beside him looked at him, a sly smirk on his face, "I will share a secret though," he said to Jiang Cheng, "you know I could know someone's feeling right? Nobody can lie to me."
"That Shixiong of yours and his husband.
They are so madly in love with you, their fated omega."
