~move in day~

** A/N i would like to say this one more time this is being told from the pov of a black y/n so the details will be fit to a black female** (as close as i can get)

i had just pulled up to my new apartment building, it was pretty small but then again i was never the type to go all big and fancy it drew to much attention. i parked my car and went towards the loading truck to assist the workers with my equipment. "HEY BE CAREFUL WITH THAT DRONE IT WAS A BIRTHDAY PRESENT" i yelled while grabbing my tool box. i walked in the building and began to go up the stairs to apartment 5a i told the workers they could just bring the boxes in the house i'll take it from there. after getting everything in from the truck i went to get a few things to modify the house.

i went out my door to go down stairs and ran into two men if you could even call them that. one was tall lanky, skinny and pale with blue eyes, brown perfectly parted brushed hair. the other was pretty short for a man and had wavy brown hair and thick black glasses. "oh hi you must be our new neighbor, i'm leonard and this is my roommate sheldon" the short one said while gesturing to the tall man next to him. "leonard, now you know i like to be introduced correctly excuse his ignorance. i'm Dr. Sheldon Cooper phd" he said with a grin on his face.

his smudge look told me enough about him so i just politely introduced myself trying my best not to one up him. "nice to meet you both i'm Y/N Daniels, it's a pleasure to meet you. also sheldon was it?" i know i said i would try to be nice but he deserved THAT at the very least that i thought to myself. "what kind of doctor are you?" i asked. "well i guess i could tell you even though someone as simple as yourself probably wouldn't understand" he said monotone. from the way he speaks i can tell he probably is like this to everyone, good i wouldn't want my new neighbor to be passive aggressively racist.

"im a theoretical physicist" he said smuggling. "oh so am i, i actually started a new job at caltech i'm also an engineer and business manager" i said clearing him out or atleast i thought. "nice to finally have someone here with brains" he said eyeing his roommate. "we both work at caltech too. so when's your fist day" leonard asked. "tomorrow"i said "we usually drive together would you like a ride?" he asked me. "sure i'll see you guys tomorrow morning" i said walking down stairs back to my original plan.

after a long day of working out the new system i set up in my house, i decide to take it for a test run. you see at heart im kinda like a little kid so i decide that in this house i would set up small things that are like magic. i had light settings that would change based on the rhythmic pattern i would clap my hands in. i had drawers and cabinets that would open with just a tap and a fridge that my company made that tells you when you run out a certain thing. i also felt like being fancy and installing my mirror tv when you tap it the mirror would fade away and a tv screen would start playing. i loved all these little modifications but was tired so i went to sleep.

i woke up and showered got ready and eat breakfast. and headed out. i should make a automatic lock system for my door that would be so cool. i went deep into thought on how i should start the blue print and how it should work i was so deep into my thoughts that i hadn't realize i was already at sheldon's door. the door swung open with sheldon stopping with leonard be hide him. "y/n most people knock when they see a door" sheldon said. breaking me from my deep thoughts. "oh my apologies i was just thinking of automatic locking system for my door i guess i got carried away" i laughed it off.

we head to caltech i went to my new office it was dark green my favorite color. i was already thinking of new modifications i could make but i already had my hands full with the lock systems. i noticed the white boards on the left and right walls i decided to get to work on my lock system. after about 3 hours i decided to take a break for the most part it was looking good i just need approval from the landlord to use it. i checked my phone and saw that it was lunch time making my way to the cafeteria i got food and saw leonard waving me to sit with his friends.

i walked over and saw sheldon and two other men who i didn't know, one kinda looked like a Beatles member and the other was a brown skin man whom seemed to be very shy. i pulled up a chair and sat down. "so how's you first day on the job" leonard asked. "it's actually going really well i finished my blue prints for my lock system i just have to ask the landlord for approval so i can install it" i said leaning back in my chair.

"oh where are my manners im y/n daniels" i said sitting up greeting the two men. "i'm howard and this hollow shell of a man is raj" he said shaking my hand. "well its nice to meet you both" i said. "like wise but you said something about making blue prints for a lock system did you just do that today?" he asked. "yes i came up with the idea this morning im an engineer so i'm always making modifications to my space area" i said humbly.

after a quick chat the next thing i knew lunch was over i decided to go check out the building and see what they had there i ended up by sheldon's office. I might as well stop here and say hi. i knocked on the door "it's unlocked" sheldon replied i walked in and saw a whiteboard covered in equations. "wow that's a lot of numbers" i said walking around examining the work of this crazy man. "well you too are a theoretical physicist so you should understand this" he stated not said.

"well i'm more of a art type theoretical physicist" i said grabbing a marker to show him. i ended up making his equations into a story. he was stunned and shocked at how the story still made since along with the equations. he grabbed a marker and started going to work even harder i let him be he seemed to had found a new motivation. it was nice to see his eyes light up by the story i made i giggled and head out of the office.

after a long day of work i head back home and just napped.
