I'm not the brightest human alive, but I can't help myself. Curiosity is a powerful thing. Many would say going to an area that was recently attacked by villains without a quirk is a bad idea. I say it's also a bad idea but bad ideas don't always give bad rewards.

I stood up from my bed, put on my red shoes, a dark green jacket, and my trusty pocket-covered pants. I should be alright, I plan on bringing a pocket knife for an emergency. The fact that there could be an emergency should be scaring me off from doing this but, I don't know I feel like I have to ask questions.

Mom was already out for work, even at this time of night. I open my door and walk to the kitchen, in one of the drawers is an old pocket knife my mom keeps just in case. She says you never know if there's gonna be an invader and I'm the only hero to protect my little boy. I take it and head out to the front door.

I need to speak with this vigilante.

...

Jumping from roof to roof and staying on the low wasn't difficult. The worry of being a witness to an attack is what was messing me up, if I was there and I was spotted what would my mom say? What if I wasn't there for her to even say anything? I can't keep putting myself in these situations, she's already worried as she is why I did this. I continued to move swiftly past each alleyway. I jumped off the roof hitting my arm on the side of the wall on my way down. I winced as I touched the part that will most likely bruise in the morning. I began walking slowly through each direction looking to see if there's any sign of the vigilante. I peek through a corner and there I see. Two men surrounded someone. One of them seems to have an elongating tongue quirk and seems a bit sharper than a normal tongue too. The other one didn't seem to have a really interesting quirk, it could just give him an extra limb or two.

God I'm stupid I didn't need to do this I could be at home sleeping. Too late now though, I could just walk past but they might hear me and not want anyone who could call the police. I look to the side of me and see a ladder to the roof of the small building separating us. I climb the ladder to the top and check my surroundings. I see a leftover brick from the wall close to a vent. Next to me is a blanket and molding food. I grabbed the blanket and looked a bit over the edge seeing if they had started attacking the man yet. They seemed to be just talking to him in a threatening way. I look back at the objects left on the roof and come up with a plan.

I take a deep breath, I check over the edge one more time and wait for them to start attacking. Suddenly one of them raises their fist. I stand on the ledge of the roof.

"AAAAHHHHHHHH" I scream as I throw the blanket and the brick straight into the first guy's mouth. It was wide open causing the brick to break his teeth and jaw. He threw himself on the floor, screaming in agony. I jumped down and took out my pocket knife. I started pointing it at the second man standing there.

"Get the hell out before I snap your jaw too."

"Get the hell out before I snap your jaw too."

I didn't think anything good would come out of putting himself in danger like this but it seemed to just work in my favor. The man slowly started to step back, then began running in the other direction. I turned back and the first guy was gone too. I become less tense and take in a long sigh. I realized not only the attackers left but the victim also left.

"What happened?" God I didn't want to have to fight anyone tonight, it could have ended so much worse. At least I didn't get hurt at all, but god I'm stupid for even doing it. While mumbling to myself about how bad that situation was and how badly I could have been injured, I heard a small step behind me and spun myself around. The pocket knife back in my hand.
