This is gonna be a Zane x Gene chapter.

A/N:
This is important so please read.
I know I didn't keep my promise on updating this more and I am so sorry for that. I swear I am trying my best here but I've got so many books to continue and it doesn't help that I had to isolate this week and do shit around the house to make sure everything was okay do I had to skip the first week back at college.
Now onto what I need to know from y'all. Ever since I started making some characters as Trans in my MHA ship books my mind has been doing the same for a couple of characters in the Aphmau universe. I was wondering if y'all would be okay with me making Dante and Gene as Transgender males in this book and any other books I make? Part of me loves seeing them that way. Same with the Zene ship being Zane as Top and Gene as Bottom. I may end up doing it anyway if y'all aren't okay with that but I just wanted to get opinions. Thank you for reading!

No one's POV
No one. Literally nobody.. expected Gene Caldwell of all people to be the one to start trying to be friendly with Zane Ro'Meave. NO ONE. And yet, here we are.

Zane and Gene were currently having lunch at the University. They were talking and laughing at whatever unspoken stories were said about their childhoods. Mainly Zane's.. Gene didn't like to talk about his. Understandably so..
Zane: so... yeah. Safe to say that Garroth is a dumbass who tries to show off but it backfired.
Gene chuckled more at the story that was just told
Gene: is he really THAT fucking stupid?
He kept chuckling at this as they spoke more. After he finally calmed down they had finished their lunch and started making their way out of the lunch hall. Once they were outside on the campus grounds they just walked through whilst talking to eachother about anything that came to mind.
Gene suddenly noticed out of the corner of his right eye a giant bush of flowers. He felt the need to run over and make something but resisted since he didn't want to seem like a "freak" as he used to get told in middle school. Zane obviously noticed the interest though and decided to, out of the blue, take Gene's hand and drag him over to the flower bush. Gene blushed as red as Eijirou Kirishima's hair. When they got to the flowers Zane picked off a few and handed them to Gene.
Zane: start making whatever you like and I'll hand them as you go.
Gene allowed himself to smile widely at this as he felt himself allow his inner child to come out and immediately sat on the concrete floor and started making something with the flowers. Zane keeping his promise on handing a flower to him as he went on with it.
And before they knew it, Gene had made a flower crown out of red, white and black roses. Why there were black roses, neither of them have a clue. But when Gene stood up he immediately placed it on top of Zane's head which made the one eyed male chuckle in awe at his child-like behaviour. They continued their walk through the campus before the bell had suddenly gone off. Signalling the next lesson for those who have it.
Gene felt a little down knowing that they both had to go their separate ways for their next class but they promised to see eachother again after the final lesson. Zane went off to his digital art lessons while Gene went off for his animal management lesson and bartending lesson.
Both boys kept their promise when the final bell rang and everyone began making their way to their dorm rooms. Zane and Gene met up and to eachother's dorm rooms so they both could put their bags away and hang out a bit longer than they did at lunch. They showed their IDs to the gate scanner to leave the campus grounds so they could go somewhere else instead of just walking around the university with nothing much to do.

When they reach Falcon Claw City

They walked around for a while before they both settled on going to a restaurant for some food then going to the cinema to watch a movie. Once they arrived and walked in they both sat down at a two-person table then looked at their menus.
Once they ordered their food they ate whilst holding conversation with eachother about their hobbies, what they like, what they want to do for their careers. Once their food was finished Zane paid the cheque after much arguing over who does it. Gene eventually gave in after checking his wallet..
They both made their way to the movies so they could see what is showing. When they got there, they looked at the screens that showed the list of movies that was currently being shown. They eventually decided to go with Resident Evil: Welcome to Racoon City.

After the movie (I haven't actually seen it yet)

The two boys were walking back towards the university whilst talking about the film.
Gene: it was an awesome film but there was one thing that I was not happy about.
Zane hummed
Zane: mhm. And what's that?
Gene looked him in the eyes
Gene: the actor for Leon S. Kennedy. The guy didn't look like him... AT ALL!!
Zane laughed out loudly at Gene's complaint whilst also agreeing.

The two boys eventually made it back to the university and showed their ID to the gate scanner so that they could get in.
Gene: not gonna lie, this was a pretty fun day.
Zane agreed with him with a happy hum.
Zane: sure was.
Gene then mumbled to himself quietly but without knowing that Zane still heard him
Gene: shame it wasn't a date..
Zane looks to him with wide eyes
Zane: a date?
Gene's eyes went wide as he realised how much of a dumbass he just became. He stumbled on his words as he couldn't seem to find the right answer without sounding like an idiot.
Zane: well I wanted it to be a date too if that helps..
And then Gene froze. Like his system just crashed. Full on, Gene.exe has stopped working
Zane: do you need a reboot or something?
He shook his head to snap out of his shocked daze
Gene: umm.. so.. what now?
Zane shrugged
Gene: confess? Make out?
Zane furrowed his eyebrows
Zane: confess? Wait.. do you-?
Gene groaned at himself for his brain making him talk before he can even think about it. He eventually gave up on hiding
Gene: alright, yes. I like you. A lot. Okay?
He sighed deeply to himself as placed a hand over his whole face like it was an attempt to hide tears. It wasn't long before he felt a hand on his to remove it from his face that he then saw Zane with his mask down and face leaning closer to his. Before he realised it, Zane's lips were on his in a passionate kiss. When his brain finally let him process his eyes went wide before he closed then and kissed back. Zane's hands went around Gene's waist after he let go of the hand he moved from his face as Gene's arms slowly started to go around his neck before they quickly did when they both began to move their heads and lips in sync.
After a couple more seconds they broke the kiss and looked eachother in the eyes.
Gene: holy shit..
Zane chuckled
Zane: agreed..
They then hugged eachother in the same pose that they were in when they kissed. It almost felt like an emotional moment.. but both were as happy as they can be in eachother's embrace.

They both eventually started to make their way to their dorm rooms before they decided to try and be sneaky. They decided they will try and sneak Gene into Zane's room since he didn't have a roommate. Once they were successful, they were both happy to fall asleep in eachother's arms while Gene was wearing some of Zane's pyjamas.
