"Many years ago, there was a small wolf pack, thriving and struggling for food. This pack was called: "The pack of darkness." This pack was one of the smallest known packs. These wolves always were in the dark, being nocturnal. These wolves could see very well in the dark but many wolf pups were known to go missing there. A few years later, it was destroyed. A few years after the pack was formed, a brand new wolf was born. His name, was Shadow."
It was nighttime, and the wolves were getting ready to hunt. It was cold at night, and a lot of prey were asleep, so it was difficult to find prey. There was the sounds of crickets and owls.
Shadow's parents were gone from the den as they went to hunt. Shadow loved the dark and wished he could leave the den to explore. He lifted his small head, looking for any sign of his parents. He peeked out. It was dark, very dark. He felt as if he were being watched. A breeze of cold wind filled the air, running across Shadow's thin fur. He stuck a paw out, ready to head out from the den. Beforehand, he looked to see any sign of his parents. He padded out of the den, excited. The deeper he went, the darker it got.
He felt weak and hungry, so he had decided to look for at least something to eat. He didn't know how to hunt at the time, so he had to at least try to. He looked around for something, anything. He spotted a dark-colored rabbit rummaging around for food as well. Maybe it was also struggling to find something? Shadow walked closer. He felt weak to pounce so he had to chase after it, but something had scared it off. A loud cry in the forest happened, but it didn't sound like an animal. Out of curiosity he went to find the source of the sound.
His little paws felt very weak, almost like he couldn't stand up. He ignored this and decided to keep traveling while following the loud cries. He felt something watching him from behind. He turned to see a small shadow creature, which seemed like a small child. He padded towards it, his little paws seeming as if they couldn't handle his weight. The shadow child would place its hand on top of Shadow's small head and gave him a small pet before gesturing she wanted to play with him. He followed her lead, chasing her around in a playful way.
The cries got louder as the shadow child stopped, so he caught her before stopping himself. He looked around for the reason why she stopped. It was dark, very dark, and his vision seemed slightly blurry almost. The shadow child suddenly disappeared, and he wanted to go look for where she had went. It was to dark for him to go any further, though, and his paws were very weak, so he padded back to his home. Before he was able to reach his home, the shadows surrounded him, making everything around him invisible. The shadows stopped him from running any further. That shadow child left him here to get taken away! He called out for any wolf around, but nobody came. Before long, the shadows surrounded his body entirely, and the last thing that was heard was a loud and what seemed almost painful cry, and the shadows, and shadow himself vanished to never be seen again.
Many years later, the forest there was completely burned and the pack of darkness was never mentioned again. Shadow never returned, and neither did any of the wolves in that pack. But actually, shadow DID return, but not as his old self. When midnight awoke, shadow's red eyes glowed in the darkness. He awoke. His body was completely black, aside from the slight lighter parts on his fluff and his face. He was now a Shadow itself. He was very large right now. He shrunk down into a much smaller size, near his old size. He looked at the burned remains of his den, remembering when he was a pup, alone and defenseless before he got taken away by the shadows. Shadow was now a Shadow wolf, and had to find a new home to live, a dark place where he could be alone.
