Saige Catalina LewisI didn't know him.
I have no memories of him or with him. I don't feel anything with him being gone nor did I want to.
If you would've asked me two months ago I would've told you knowing my biological father was never going to be in the cards for me but now I don't even have the option to do so.
Daniel Taylor. That was his name.
He worked at a small architectural firm and at a community college as a professor. He and his wife Nicole, who was a news anchor, died together in a Romeo and Juliet style death. Apparently he was sick for years and no one knew besides her, when he was in his last days she made the decision to die with him. They left behind one daughter, internet star Kehlani Taylor.
Well as a married couple that's all they left behind. See Daniel had a secret. He cheated on Nicole for a very long time, almost the entirety of the beginning of their relationship. He had another girlfriend on the side. My mother.
"Saige your three o'clock is here." My assistant tells me coming into my work room. I nod at her but don't look up from the letter in my hand.
A letter telling me that my biological father is dead and he's left me something in his will. To receive what's in the will I would have to attend a meeting with his lawyer and my 'sister' for a reading, if I don't attend then I don't get anything and neither does she.
Would I be wrong to rob her of something from her dead father because I don't want to deal with my unhealed daddy issues?
"Hello, I'm Saige. I'm going to give you a few minutes to get undressed from the waist down and lie on the table. If you need to there are wipes right here by the door." I tell my client then step out of the room.
Usually I'd just stand outside the door and give my client five minutes to get ready but today I grab the letter heading straight to the bathroom.
I grab my phone from the pockets of my scrubs and dial the one number I always do when I'm in distress.
"What's up Sae? I thought you were at work?" Dale asks through the phone.
"I am at work. I just need to talk to you. I just got some news and it's fucking with my head." I admit as I lean back against the sink of the restroom.
"I'm kind of busy right now. Is it life it death?" He asks sounding like he was in the car driving. He was always talking on the phone while driving no matter what I or my mama told him.
I have to force the tears away. I don't know why I was even crying or why I called my brother because I shouldn't feel anything for this man.
"Yea, I'll see you tonight." I hang up the phone then drop it back in the front pocket of my scrubs. I wipe my face with some tissues the make sure I look okay before I leave to go back to my suite.
"Is this good?" The client asks me from her spot on the table. She was laid perfectly in butterfly so I can see her vagina.
"Of course! You are actually perfect. I assumed you've been waxed before." I tell her putting on my pink gloves and walking over to her.
I examine her hair for a second then walk over to my pot for more coarse hair. I dip a wax stick on and mix it around before turning and applying it to her left labia.
"Actually no, this is my first time. I just watched a bunch of YouTube videos." The client explains to me while I lay another strip of wax.
I look up at her while pressing to see if the wax is ready to be pulled. "Okay we'll get ready. I have to pull in a few seconds." I tell her then start counting down from three.
