Paint slid across the sky as if it were a canvas. Before adding yellow and mixing it in, it started with red, orange, and purple. It was like being in the middle of a dark forest with a blazing fire. It was the first time I'd seen a sunset in three years.
"Enjoying the view, N/N?" Kazutora said, still keeping his eyes on the road.
"Mhm, specifically the one that isn't you," I leaned my head against the car door.
I could feel his gaze pierce through my skull. At first glance, he seems like a gentleman. So I must be rubbing off on him already. "What's the point of the glare?" I turned to face him.
He returned his attention back to the road. "Someone's going to end up in a body bag at this point," he says. Wow, he thinks our duo is that bad?
"I'm offended! You think I can't have character development," I exclaimed, faking a hurt expression. Raising my hand flat on my chest. He scrunched up his face and stared at me out of the corner of his eye before returning his focus to the road. "Whatever you say," He said.
As soon as I walked into the house, I felt a wave of relief wash over me. It reminded me of coming home after a long day at school as a child. Oh, how I hated school.
Believe it or not, I was a pretty decent student who never failed a class. Okay, maybe a few times. But I never really learned anything. I was simply forced to remember it and scribble it down on a piece of paper.
I'll never admit it, but i'm glad Kazutora took me in. I missed having a place to call home. Even if it's only for a week. If I had to do it all over again, I'd do it just to be here.
"Huh, i'm homesick for a place that doesn't even exist" I mumbled.
"Well you have seven days, don't get too comfortable" Is he a vampire? He sure does have good ass hearing.
"Mmm k so where's my room?" With the balls of my feet and my tippy toes, I bounced up and down.
He took me upstairs and directed me to the door on the left. It was a good size, with a twin bed in the middle. Plants, modern colors, and a pet bed decorate the space. I'm guessing he decorated the employees' room with all those plants.
Upstairs, there were only four rooms. His room, my room, and the bathroom. I'm guessing he doesn't have a girlfriend, so what's in the last one?
"Do you like it? I hope you do because if not you're gonna have to sleep on the couch." In humiliation, making a forced laugh, he rubbed the nape of his neck.
"Eh, don't got much of a choice. In my lifetime i've learned to suck it up and complain later," I made my way to the fourth room. But, before I could grab the handle, he grabbed it and greeted me with a slight smile.
"Two rules. One, never, enter this room without my supervision. Two, when going out, to ensure your safety, you have to be with me"
"If you wanted a child you could've just adopted one," I mean, I understand the second one. He's my 'knight in shining armor' for when the police appear.
"They'd be way louder than you, i'd rather not," he ran a hand through his hair and made his way downstairs. "Cmon, I wanna do something I haven't in a longgg time."

Hasn't even been an hour, and the two are already bickering. Money spread out on the floor, and the TV playing in the background.
