Nothing was as relaxing as drinking a cup of iced tea after a long day in your living room whilst you watched television and it was raining outside.I snuggled myself properly in my blankets for warmth. It began raining cats and dogs the moment Jackson left, which was a surprise because the sky was clear blue during the day and showed no sign of rain any time. My grandmother always said that whenever it rained unexpectedly, that was a sign that something terrible was going to happen. I never knew whether to believe her not.
"The new city bank has been completed and will have an official opening tomorrow afternoon at 12 by the mayor, attending the small opening ceremony shall be free for all citizens between the age of sixteen to sixty, more information after the break.."
Opening ceremony? Doesn't sound bad. I heard about the new bank a few times but never really cared. Attending the ceremony seemed like a lovely idea, besides, I had nothing to do tomorrow apart from the small meeting with Jack. Jack? I can't believe I was already calling him by that even though he still used my last name on me."Miss. Clark".
I remembered the way he said it so effortlessly and how his tongue clicked on the C-L. He actually made me fall in love with my own name. "Miss. Clark".
"Hm hmmmhm", I sighed, holding myself tighter as I slowly closed my eyes. Yes. Falling asleep. I wanted to sleep, now.
"You have better things to think about. Your sisters getting married in less than two months and you're going to be one of her bridesmaids!" But of course Stacy had to ruin it.

"Since when do you go to city functions?"
"Ever since I got bored staying home", I replied as I gazed outside the windowsill in the yellow cab I booked. I don't know why Stacy was judging me, after all she told me to act more like a civilized person. Isn't this what they do? Attend boring functions.
"Wait, are you going with that neighbor of yours?" Of course she had to ask.
"No, it's just me. Though we're going to hang out for a while at 2pm", I murmured the last part, hoping she didn't hear it.
"Ohhhh, we both know that hanging out doesn't just mean 'hanging out'"
"Well that's too bad because I know for sure that getting in between my legs is not even the least thing Jackson want. In fact, I think talking to me isn't on the list either!" I retorted holding my forehead in realization.
"Ma'am, we're here", I heard the cab driver say before halting the vehicle. I looked outside and saw a tremendous number of people dressed in formal attire. I had never seen such a classy gathering before. Women wore fancy office wear, and so did the men. It was all just black and white.
I looked down at myself, I seemed like the odd one out. Pink Summer shorts, sky blue, loose, thin strapped blouse and white sneakers.
I squeaked like a mouse trapped in a lions den. "Are you getting out or not, miss?" The driver asked, looking at me through the rear view mirror.
"Do you think you could take me back home?"
"Unfortunately, I have another client who needs me, so I don't think that would be possible". I could tell through his old little ugly face that he was lying. He probably wanted to go eat a meal since it was already past 12. I'd booked enough cabs to know they're lies.
"Ally? You there?" I almost jumped once I heard Stacy's voice escape my phone. I couldn't tell her what was happening, she'd probably just laugh at me.
