"Try flapping them slowly," Hoseok instructed.

Seokjin flapped his wings gently and his feet lifted off the ground for the first time in ten days. Taehyung sighed in relief as Seokjin broke into a smile as he flew higher and higher until Hoseok told him to stop.

"Okay, now fly around that area until I tell you to come down."

Seokjin took flight again and he flew around in circles, looking absolutely ethereal under the first tendrils of sunlight. Hoseok gave more instructions but Taehyung's world temporarily blurred around Seokjin. The Dark one looked like he had been reborn as he fluttered over rooftops and around trees. Upon the fairy's further instruction, Seokjin took off faster and soared higher than earlier before diving down and coming to a halt mid-air. Again, he launched to the sky and for a minute, neither Taehyung nor Hoseok could see him. However, before they could break out into a panic, Seokjin came swooping down and after Hoseok barked at him to go slower, the Dark one began to descend gracefully.

Taehyung held out his hand for Seokjin to hold as he touched the ground, his face drenched but shining with pure joy.

"You did amazing," Taehyung said before kissing his cheek.

"Thank you," Seokjin replied so adorably that Taehyung was filled with cute aggression.

"Well done, hyung! Just practice flying like this for a day or two and you'll be good enough to fly through clouds but don't tell Yoongi I said that because you know how he gets extra worried when his patients are one of his friends and you know how dear you are to Yoongi like he didn't even eat properly this entire week because he was so worried so I had to- okay I better not say what I did to cheer him up but I think you got it." Hoseok didn't even pant and flashed his radiant smile when he was done talking like a tsunami; there was a sky-ground difference between the fairy's professional and personal personas.

"Please take care of him, Hobi, and yourself as well," Seokjin said as he hugged the man who reciprocated the embrace immediately.

"Of course! And Taehyung-sshi, please take care of our Seokjinnie hyung because he's just so irresponsible when it comes to himself and let me tell you how one time he fell down three flights of stairs and the next day he was running his shop with half of his limbs in a cast and he even forgot to take his medicine so Yoongi and I literally dragged him to our house and held him captive for five weeks so please take care of him because you are his soulmate, right?"

"Um..." Taehyung looked at Seokjin nervously. He wanted to say yes but they still hadn't discussed the matter so he didn't know what Seokjin's answer would be.

"Well, not by ritual but he will take care of me for sure. Don't worry, Hobi," Seokjin reassured the fairy who gave yet another lecture before flitting away.

"So, I'm your soulmate?" Taehyung felt giddy as he asked the question.

"Do you want to be...hyung?" Seokjin asked, looking abashed as he bit his bottom lip and looked everywhere but Taehyung.

"Baby," Taehyung mused as he cupped Seokjin's face and thumbed his cheeks.

"I would never say no to that," Taehyung replied before kissing Seokjin breathless.

___________

"Seokjin-ah," Taehyung called out to Seokjin who had been zoning out for the entire day- actually, for a few days.

"Hmm?"

"What are you thinking, baby? You seem so distracted," Taehyung said as he sat on the bed next to a blanket-wrapped Seokjin.

"It's nothing."

"It's something."

"It's nothing important."

"It's definitely important to you."

"Do you remember I said we're not mates by ritual?" Seokjin recounted and Taehyung noticed his ears going red so he touched one of them and rubbed the outer shell.

"Yes, I do." Taehyung wondered what was so important about some silly ritual because if they were genuinely in love with each other, they shouldn't be too worried about any rituals.

"Well, don't you think we should just get over it?" Seokjin asked hesitantly.

"Is it that important? I mean, we can just do it, I didn't think you would be so concerned about it. What do we have to do anyways?"

Seokjin mumbled something inaudibly.

"Louder, baby."

"Have sex."

Oh

Taehyung bit down on his growing smirk as he held Seokjin's chin and turned it towards him so their eyes met.

"Baby, you can just say that you've been aroused."

"I have not been aroused!" Seokjin denied with his signature pout.

"Really?" Taehyung cocked an eyebrow.

"Maybe a little bit," Seokjin admitted.

"Just a little bit?" Taehyung began to slide the blanket off Seokjin's shoulders and his eyes nearly popped out when he found Seokjin in nothing but a sheer nightshirt underneath.

"It doesn't seem like that," Taehyung said as he threw the blanket off the bed, eyeing Seokjin's exposed thighs hungrily.

Involuntarily, Seokjin rubbed his thighs together as he just gazed at Taehyung with eyes that were slowly turning darker by the moment.

"You seem to be really... well prepared," Taehyung murmured as his hands landed on Seokjin's thighs and parted them to reveal his tight boxers.

"It doesn't look like... just a little bit ." Taehyung whispered before he pressed over his boxers with a palm, causing Seokjin to throw his head back and let out a throaty moan.

"Hyung- hyung ahn!"

Taehyung discarded his own shirt and pants and lay himself bare, absolutely bare, in front of Seokjin.

Seokjin got on his knees, eyes on his prey, and placed his hands on Taehyung's bare chest and slowly slid them southwards, dragging his blunt nails against the skin.

"Hyung..." Seokjin purred. "You have been taking care of me for so long..."

"Seokjin-ah, it was unconditional, you know that."

"I'm not just talking about the past few weeks. I'm talking about ever since you came here. You could have done everything mechanically but everything you did for me...I felt them, hyung. I felt your love, hyung." Seokjin cupped Taehyung's cheek and gazed at him with teary eyes.

"Why are you crying, baby?" Taehyung asked gently, their breaths mingling.

"A Dark one lives seven lives, hyung. If only they find their soulmate, they will become immortal so their love never dies. This is my last life, hyung. I would have been no more without you."

"Seokjin-ah..." Taehyung knew he was crying. He couldn't bear to think what could have happened if he hadn't met him sooner, or if he hadn't met him ever .

And for the first time, Taehyung did not regret losing his wings.

"I love you," came a whisper from the depths of his soul.

"I love you too," Seokjin said with equal passion.

"So let me take care of you, hyung..."

And everything else was just a raging storm of events and Taehyung remembered them as glimpses of Seokjin pushing him to the mattress and straddling him, of their hips grinding against the other as their hands roamed shamelessly, of their moans echoing through the entire cottage as their skin slapped against each other, of Seokjin's wings that spread themselves as he bounced on top of Taehyung and elicited the most sinful hyung ... after hyung... after hyung ...
