School (Kurt Cobain Fan Fiction)

Aberdeen

The past year has been hard. I've had to move house because my Mom has drinking problems and she is simply incapable of looking after me anymore. I was just overcoming my anxiety at school and had finally made a few friends but all of a sudden I had to move to a crappy place called Aberdeen. Luckily I'm moving into my cousin Krist's house.
I can hang around with him and he won't mind because we get along very well.
Krist is super tall and I'm about half his size. He's got short brown hair and.. Well let's just say there is never a silent moment when he's around.

I collect my baggage in the airport and look around. I look like a lost tourist but I keep walking to pretend I know where I'm going.
I eventually spot Krist and his mom waving at me at the exit door.
"Hey!", I say with a nervous smile. I've never been good at social interaction and can't help but feel sick in the airport.
"Hi Rebecca!", says Krist while giving me a tight hug. "You must be so tired let me take that for you", says Krist's mom as she takes my suitcase. I yawn and a depressing thought crosses my mind. I wish my mom was like that. I quickly shake it off and look over to Krist.
"We better go, this airport is packed." I say and smile, acting like I'm happy and everything is fine..
We walk to the car and I tell them about my trip over here and all of the weird people I met on the way. It's strange but whenever I go travelling, I always see weird people. Krist reassures me that I'll be fine in the new school. He's always been so good at comforting me, he's like a brother to me in fact.

I fall asleep in the car and when I wake up I smile. I feel safe and happy hearing Krist telling a story to his mom while she's laughing.
We arrive at the house and I go straight to bed. I couldn't sleep though. I had way too many thoughts in my head.
What if I can't make friends at school? How is my mom getting on? Will I ever see her again? I look over at the clock. '3:15'. I take deep breaths and eventually fall asleep.
