Shall ran home, but to her surprise, her sister wasn't here yet. It was only after eight o'clock and her sister was no longer five, but Shall still felt uncomfortable.
She brought her father the ingredients, for which she had to return to the forest, and she sat down.
"Didn't you see your sister?" A rough but pleasant voice asked.
"I didn't, but as I know her, she'll be in a tree house or somewhere nearby." Shall told her dad.
"Okay. If she didn't arrive by nine, would you go for her? Maybe she forgot on time."
"Yep! I'll go there, but I don't think she'll miss dinner." Shall grinned, jerked quickly, and ran up the stairs to her room. She lay down on the bed and nervously grabbed the phone. She went through almost every page with anything similar about what happened to her, at least something a little comparable, but it always only led her to one thing... telekinesis.
Telekinesis? I wish, but unfortunately we are not in a fairy tale...
The sound of the front door opening interrupted her thoughts. Her wide-open door let the stressed-out Shall into the hallway that led to the stairs. She ran quickly over them and grabbed Tev, who barely managed to greet Dad as she took off her shoes, and pulled her into her room.
"But it's dinner in a minute!" Came from the kitchen as Shall pulled Tev up the stairs. Tev settled on the bed and Shall slammed the door.
"I know you may not believe me, but you're my sister, so at least I want to tell you, but even if you don't believe me-" Shall kept talking and marching until Teva's hand grabbed hers.
"Like you said. We're sisters. You can tell me everything." Tev said with a surprisingly calm voice and expression. That helped Shall calm down. However, as soon as she inhaled the first word, she was interrupted by her father, whose screams could be heard even through the closed door.
"Dinner!!"
"Just one second!!" Shall shouted as she opened the door and then again slammed them.
"It'll probably have to wait after dinner." Tev sighed and, despite her miraculous healing, felt a slight pain in lifting. As Tev tried to walk out of room, Shall quickly slammed the door.
"This is something that can't wait." Shall said, looking worried.
"Okay...?" Tev said incomprehensibly, taking a few steps back.
"Okay... I was in the woods and I don't know. It was too much for me, let's say, and I screamed and 3 trees fell around me, but it was exactly tied to my screams, so I have to say I did." Shall said in one breath, and Tev had a problem handling it for a moment.
"Wait wait... so you're telling me that following your screaming, 3 trees have fallen at once?" Tev asked to make sure she understood. Shall just nodded emphatically. Tev wondered if she would share her story with her sister, but even if she decided to do so, she wouldn't get a chance because their father entered the room.
"Daddy!" Frightened Shall jumped a short distance from the door through which the tall blonde figure entered.
"I heard everything." He said rather calmly that he had heard Shall's story.
"H- How... everything?" Shall stammered.
"Or at least what's important... I guess it's better if I tell you the truth now before something serious happens." A blonde figure replied, walking from the door down the stairs to the first floor and then to the cellar. The girls followed him incomprehensibly, waiting to see what would happen.
There were only a few steps left before the girls reached the lowest point of the house... at least they thought so. The first step on the icy ground of the cellar is drenched in coldness and discomfort. It was clear to them that what is happening will change their lives a lot.
Their dad approached the dim brick wall and held out his hand. Suddenly, it was as if the wind had risen from the floor and blew everything away for a second. The girls stood guard and watched the story.
The piece of wall their father's hand began to open. The girls felt mystery, curiosity, and fear of what would await them under the long stairs that opened before them.
Their footsteps grew heavier with each step, and it was getting colder and colder. It seemed like an eternity, but after about a minute of slowly climbing the stairs, they reached the lowest floor of the house. In front of them was a table on which lay two boxes like for rings. One blue with gold and the other red with gold. There were shelves leaning against the walls full of various things and photos.
"Who is it?" Shall dared to ask.
"These are your parents..." Said the dejected man standing with his head down in front of the table.
"Wait... this is a joke, isn't it?" Tev said slightly aggressively. "And even if it's a joke... it's not funny." She added.
"Unfortunately it's not..." He said dejectedly. "You are the daughters of an angel and a demon, and therefore you are a hybrid, but hybrids are a forbidden race, and that's why your parents gave you to me. The two girls stood motionless and speechless in place before Tev turned and ran up the stairs. The father wanted to go on and tell the whole truth, but his daughter's escape stopped him.
Shall turned to stairs where her sister ran of, but then her gaze returned to her dad... well... if she could still call him that. It was obvious that both girls were in shock, and neither of them wanted to think that the man who had raised them since birth was not their real father. Shall stood there staring at him, her head full of thoughts waiting for what would happen. The man took one box in each hand and turned to the girl, who remained standing. He stepped closer to her and said, "I'm sorry, I just wanted you to have at least a little normal life, but it looks like I was just naive and selfish." The girl lunged at the man and hugged him tightly.
"Can I still call you Dad?" She asked with her head dipped in his chest.
"You can." He smiled at her.
Together they went up the stairs to the living room, and the man was relieved that at least one of his daughters was fine. But he didn't blame Tev for reacting that way.
"Will you go for Tev then? She'll probably be in the house and she probably won't want to see me." He said with a depressed smile.
"But in a moment, maybe let her breathe a moment. And when you're both fine, I'll tell you the whole story." He added and the girl nodded.
